Rite of Passage – The Solstice of June 2009
The Solstice of June 2009 will create a doorway through which we may enter into a full state of conscious living. The activation of this doorway shall awaken a new awareness of self and will support us in revealing our true nature thus healing the illusion of separation that we have created.
As we approach this doorway we are asked to move beyond the limitations of our past and to actively engage with the abilities and attributes that we have achieved in the course of our journey thus far.
As the doorway is revealed, Divine love and radiant light will pour into our hearts creating a gateway within each one of us, reconnecting us to our Spiritual foundations and merging our inner being with the familiar infinite power of love and wisdom. Our sacred power, the power of our hearts, will be activated, aligned and utilized as the primary source of encouragement for the journey forward. All that is required of us is dedication and commitment to the tasks that lie ahead. As we open to the coming changes, our true nature shall be refined and we are asked to embrace the essence of love within ourselves and to avoid the temptation to seek it elsewhere. This shall be a true test of how we will utilize the gift of our sacred power.
The heart of humanity must open to aid us in accessing this doorway into the higher realms of self awareness. We are entering the point of perfect balance and the extremes of polarity, and as suchthis signifies a time of deep transformation. If we choose to cross the threshold we will welcome in our wholeness, radiate our beauty and emanate the truth of who we are.
This time offers us the blessings of deep peace as we birth new ways being that in the past have been difficult for the human soul to comprehend. As we open to the possibility of right relationship with our world, our nature shall be cleansed and we will be reconnected to our Spiritual resources.
Numerous ideas and intentions are ready to be fulfilled which will make it possible for us to strengthen the bridge uniting our inner and outer selves. As we allow for our energies to be reconnected, our understanding and acceptance of ourselves and others will increase and improve, allowing us to share our higher energy and activating the potential for bliss within the heart of humanity.
As this new energy moves through our lives, those creations which no longer work for us shall be uprooted allowing for new experiences and creations to take root. We will find ourselves placed in very new and unexpected places filled opportunities for growth, learning and renewal. This is a crucial time for us to gain new levels of understanding and growth and we are encouraged to express that which is held within our hearts. Our ways of expression need to be revised and reexamined and new, more balanced ways of interaction need to be found.
As this doorway approaches it is essential that we learn that our sacred power, the voice of our heart, must be used for the highest good of all and if we open our hearts and speak our words in prayer to our Divine Creator, the Great Spirit, we are able to create a powerful reverberation throughout the Universe which will cause change and attract that which we are praying for.
The ways in which we exercise our sacred power is a direct reflection of our inner state of being. Our abilities and gifts are tools given to us by our Creator, the Great Spirit, for creation, to be used to create joy and harmony or to create pain and discord. Through the choices and decisions we make each day, we have the ability to create a loving, abundant and balanced world; or to create a scarcity filled, imbalanced and unpleasant world. As we approach the entrance into conscious living we are being aided in aligning our sacred power with the voice of our heart and thus creating only that which is harmonious and joyful.
We are being prepared for an initiation into new ways of thinking and living that will be revealed to us as we cross the threshold of this gateway. Many of the ancient cultures of our world held initiation ceremonies to provide their people with definite rites of passage, creating an opportunity for them to eradicate obsolete aspects of themselves and their lives, enabling them to begin anew. It was through these rites of passage that the people were given the opportunity to explore the spiritual meaning of the different phases of their lives.
The rite of passage we face ahead is an opportunity for deep growth which will have an enlightening and transformative effect upon our energy fields. Our sacred power is aligning with our Divine Creator, the Great Spirit, allowing us to ground cosmic power and spirituality of the highest order into our world. We will be tested and we will be asked to sacrifice those things that are keeping us from moving forward. It is a time of awakening where we can no longer claim ignorance when answering for our creations. We are to take responsibility for all that we have experienced thereby acknowledging our own power to create the lives we are destined for.
As we move forward towards our future we build upon our past with the wisdom that we have gained through the different stages of our journey. As we apply our wisdom we create a better world and allow for the awakening of unity, compassion and grace. Once the decision is made to cross the threshold our long journey reaches its destination and our knowledge and truth evolve within our consciousness birthing new wisdom and restructuring our foundations with our intuitive nature. We are ready now for new responsibilities which will allow for us to be set free to explore the infinite circle of life, reconnecting our lives to humanity and to the Earth’s evolution through the cosmos.

THE SOLSTICE
WINTER SOLSTICE - SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE
SUN INTO CANCER JUNE 21st NZ 5.45pm AUST EST 3.45pm
The Winter Solstice is when the Sun again turns Northward in the Southern Hemisphere, after having reached its furthermost southern declination. At the Winter Solstice the Divine Light reaches the inner most centre of the globe, there it remains for four days, impregnating the Earth with its Life. It is the birth of the Sun, and creates a new growth cycle, the Earth and all beings are made ready for a fresh beginning. It is a time when a great amount of Cosmic energy is given too us to heighten our vibrations and expand our awareness, through the new Sun. Each year the energy is increased as we awaken and attain our fulfilment. The Sun is within our heart and so our Solar Self is Divine Love. At the Summer Solstice we started our inner journey and purification, now we are completing and ready to step into the new and heightened frequencies through the Sun, Central Sun, and Greater Central Sun as all the cycles are now merging in alignment of the Suns. As we ourselves step into the Golden Cycle by being our Solar Self.
SUMMER SOLSTICE - NORTHERN HEMISPHERE

The Summer Solstice is when the life force and creativity of nature climax. What budded in youth has now blossomed into maturity, nature attains its peak of perfection, the transformation has been accomplished. The Solar Rays are at their peak, the Light that permeated the core of the Earth at the Winter Solstice is now radiating fully through the Earth and through all of nature. The Summer Solstice is a time when the Light has been brought back from the core of the Earth and all is illuminated, a celebration of life and the bounty, grace and abundance that is given to us from the Sun.
This Solstice be open to the joy of the Solar Rays illuminating from the Sun as the doorway was opened at the June Solstice in 2001 and now it is time to move fu lly into the level of your divinity at the level of the Sun, your unified aspects in the heightened love of yourself as a Co-Creator. Become aware of what you are creating as a Solar unified being. (We are not looking at the Sun as male or female, as there is no duality, male and female are one). So if you still feel you have issues with your Inner Male and Female now is a golden opportunity to marry them and then take yourself on a journey into the Sun. If you still have difficulty with this then look at what is going on in your charkas, as the kundalini is able to rise through you as you become clear. This is good time to start clearing and transmuting all the blocks that may still be held in the Chakras.
At the Solstice the energies are anchoring more fully with the Golden Solar Disc and also the Inner Earth doorway and the Sphinx connection which is reawakening now as we come to the opposite side of the cycle. Leo was held with the Sphinx and that energy of our ancestors the Cat Tribe is remembered and completed as we now move into the Aquarian energies opposite.
The Sphinxes are holding the Light and Solar RA Light codes that are sustaining life and the transition to the higher frequency octaves of Light within our human physical bodies”.
On this day take yourself to a sacred place or where ever you can and connect to the Suns at the time of the Solstice which is sunrise in the northern hemisphere on 21st as well as sunset and midnight on the 20th and noon on the 21st June.

Thought I'd throw this in - Since Betelgeuze seems to be muckin up lately.
Jun 18, Thursday. The Moon moves into Taurus and the Sun is now zodiacally aligned with the fixed star Betelgeuze marking the shoulder of Orion at 28 to 29 degrees of Gemini. Mercury will pass by here on July 2 and 3. Venus will pass this alignment on July 29 and Mars will be here August 22 to 27.
The brightest fixed star in the constellation of Orion is Betelgeuse. This is an Arabic word that means “the armpit of the central one”. Orion is also referred to as the High Man by the Celts and in some depictions is seen reaching his hand to the Galactic Cross. This marked the Turning of the Ages for them when the Sun was located here at either a seasonal gate or a cross-quarter point. Currently the Sun sits at the hand of the High Man during the Summer Solstice and is one of the features of the current Turning of the Ages.
Orion’s shoulder, Betelgeuse is a first magnitude red star the ancients thought bestowed “marital honors, fortune and wealth. According to Page Bryant in her book Starwalking: Shamanic Practices for Traveling into the Night Sky she says Betelguese sends an energy to earth that “helps sustain the flow of life force in all bodies on Earth.” The Sun’s own radiant life force energy further transmits the energy from Betelgeuse making this an ideal time to tune into this star energy. Once each year the Sun is conjunct Betelgeuse (27 Gemini), the bright red star that marks the shoulder of Orion (a.k.a the hunter). Belelgeuse (pronounced beetle juice) is one of the three prominent stars of the winter triangle or configuration that forms a perfect equilateral triangle including Sirius and Procyon. These stars make up what was known in some cultures as Heaven’s Gate or the entry point into this dimension of experience.
Ancient India connected Betelgeuse to the Vedic storm-god Rudra, who was a form of Shiva, the transformer through destruction and re-creation. This star is now located near the June Solstice, drawing upon its transformative abilities to assist in this Turning of the Ages renovating our earthly experience. Betelgeuse was thought to be a star that encouraged the pursuit of perfection and high level achievement. In these transforming times, the standards or ideals of perfection are not what they once were, as our understanding changes. Worldly perfection and accomplishment does not necessarily create inner peace and joy. When the focus shifts to accepting the inner perfection we already possess then our external world experience shifts.
Jun 19, Friday. Moon conjuncts Venus (13Taurus11 at the 3rd gate 5th Chakra) and Mars (13Taurus 48) just prior to the exact Venus Mars conjunction (15Taurus16) exact on June 21. This Venus gate is especially important for anyone turning of a multiple of 8 (16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88 etc. between April 3, 2003 and Nov 4, 2010) as you are in an eight year Venus Return. At this gate Inanna releases the lapis lazuli bead necklace she is wearing around her neck symbolizing the throat chakra. This chakra is called Vishuddha in sanskrit meaning purity. This chakra is most noted for communication, especially communicating the deepest truth of one's being, and inspired creativ self-expression. This chakra relates to sound and the color blue (lapis lazuli is a deep blue stone). Thought, word and deed represents the co-creative process in this dimension. Our thoughts, what we invision, 6th chakra, and how we speak of them with our words, 5th chakra, and how our feelings align with these our visions and words, 4th chakra, and then what actions we take (3rd chakra) are key factors in the co-creative process.
This is the time to release any distortions we may have in the area of creative communication that do not promote truthful creative self-expression, peace, harmony, and joy. Speaking our truth is only useful when we do so with the intent to promote healing and greater connection. If our speech comes from ego, or a need to be right, or superior in some way at the expense of peace and harmony or creating greater separation this is the time to ceremonially release them. Chanting, singing, verbal prayers, decrees, and affirmations with specific intent are all great ways to ceremonially participate with this Venus gate. Committing to learning, or refining, healthy ways to communicate with yourself are beneficial practices anytime but most especially over this next month while Venus is at this gate.
With Moon conjoining Venus and Mars so closely to their exact conjunction an image that comes to mind is the sacred union or Heiros Gamos of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine presided over by Grandmother Moon. This conjunction in the Taurus domain suggests the leading edge of this union is to deepen intimacy and sexual union between the feminine and masculine principles as they also unite in the Summer Solstice Cancer New Moon Window. Heiros Gamos or Sacred Marriage symbolizes not only the union of the divine feminine and divine masculine but also the reunion of sexuality and spirituality, matter and spirit, as well as our human connection with the abundant fullness of nature and the beauty that is in full bloom.
Dumuzi (Mars) at first has to pursuade Inanna (Venus) to marry a shepherd king. She is also encouraged by her mother Ningal, the Moon Goddess of Ur. The encounter then runs hot with the young Inanna's passion for young shepherd king Dumuzzi and their consummation, and with the echoing fullness of pastoral fecundity. It is the very love song of creation, which fills the earth with the burgeoning splendour of life.

Jun 20, Saturday. Summer Solstice is occurring at 10:36 PM Pacific Time with the Moon occulting the Pleiades and conjuncting Mercury. The Summer Solstice is the seasonal marker signaling a time when the abundance of life is at its fullest expression, the most amount of light in a day is available in this part of the yearly cycle. The Solstices and Equinoxes form the four gates, or four directions, of the celestial medicine wheel. These seasonal gates are activated by the Sun in a rhythmic pattern and the Solstice gates are currently aligned near the Galactic Center and the Galactic Edge, something that happens for a number of years every 13,000 years. The current alignment happens every 26,000 years but 13,000 years ago we had the opposite solstices or mirror image of the current time.
Solstice literally means “stand still of the Sun”. This means the Sun rises and sets at the same place on the horizon for three days appearing to stand still. Therefore, the potency of the Solstice window lasts a minimum of three days, including the day before and the day after the exact Solstice. At the Turning Of The Ages these timings are calling us to tune in and receive new ways to honor and celebrate a growing conscious relationship with these seasonal cycles. For those in the Southern Hemisphere this is the time of Winter Solstice and the beginning of a new seasonal cycle.
The Moon occultation over the Pleiades is part of six year series of occulations that are occurring due to the 19 year cycle of the Moon known as the Lunar Standstill. The Lunar Standstill has an exterior and interior process also called the Major and Minor Lunar Standstill. This series ends in 2010 and won’t reoccur until 2022 near the half way point or Minor Lunar Standstill. Still within the Solstice window and very near the Cancer New Moon Venus and Mars (15 Taurus) meet at 6:10 am Pacific Time marking the second exact meeting of Venus and Mars this year though they have been within 10 degrees since April 10 and remain within 10 degrees until July 18. Venus and Mars are still within three degrees as June ends. (See June 19 for more)
Jun 22, Monday. The Cancer New Moon (1 Cancer 30) is happening within the June Solstice Solar Gate. This New Moon is occurring near the center of the Celestial Sacred Hoop of Stars. (see article) This New Moon is reminding us of the importance of mending the Sacred Hoop symbolizing the four directions, the four races of humanity, the four seasons, the four elements and all that is contained within the Earth and Sky. The Sacred Hoop symbolizes our familial global connection to all life and when we forgive the unforgivable deeds of the past (whether they are ones we committed or they were committed by others) we mend the Hoop and create a safe, nurturing, space for healing and transforming all we encounter through the power of love.

Also worth noting is this New Moon is at 26 degrees declination meaning it is 2.5 degrees beyond where the Sun can reach in its maximum declination at the Solstice (23.5 degrees). This is referred to as an out-of- bounds Moon meaning its out side the boundaries of the furthest reach of the Sun. The Sun at the time of the New Moon will be at 23.25 degrees north declination. In addition to that the New Moon is near its perigee or closest approach to the Earth. The exact perigee will occur 15.1 hours after the exact New Moon creating higher than normal tides as well as unusual weather patterns. This event is also occurring at the Galactic Edge where we reach beyond the known reality past our Galaxy to receive any incoming inter-galactic downloads beaming into the center of the Sacred Hoop that are being illuminated by the Sun and transmitted by the Moon. Sensational Celestial Ceremonials

Beginning this Friday, June 19, we enter a five day window featuring a series of powerful and observable astrological events. Each day provides unique opportunities to experience these ceremonial applications of Shamanic Astrology.
The Shamanic Astrology Mystery School (SAMS) views "ceremony" as a specific participatory experience in alignment with the perception of "As Above, So Below." This is not the same as "ritual," or actions performed the same way each time, over time, such as a Catholic Mass or Lakota Vision Quest. From the SAMS perspective, it is not so important what you actually "do" in this type of ceremony, but rather the emphasis is on the conscious awareness of the main players on the stage of Earth and Sky. This is about allowing the cosmological events to direct the action by tuning in with our awareness and willingness to participate. That means if there is anything beyond the presence of the mystery as it shows up in the Great Above, you are free to make it up on the spot with awareness.
Day One: Friday, June 19. Visible in the morning sky before dawn is the thin waning Crescent Moon aligning with the Venus and Mars conjunction at 13 Taurus. This marks the third Venus morning star gate emphasizing the fifth or throat chakra, center of communication and speaking our truth. What can be communicated if the blocks to telling our truth were surrendered? And what significance can this bring to our cosmic couple, (journeying as Venus in Aries and Mars in Cancer within their current synodic saga) as they journey together through the sign of Taurus?
Day Two: Saturday June 20. The Summer Solstice is exact at 10:46 pm PDT. The Sun "stands still" at its extreme northern declination, producing the longest days and shortest nights in the northern hemisphere. The Sun, at this time of the Turning of the Ages, is aligned with the Galactic Edge (opposite Galactic Center) and right in the middle of the Sacred Hoop (as the Lakota have called it) star circle. Sunrise and sunset ceremonies are suggested, Saturday and Sunday, although the Sun will be with the Galactic Edge all day long. The Galactic Edge is located in the center of the Sacred Hoop and is considered the place of creation, or the entry point of the soul. We might ask, "what is being birthed? Are we in harmony with and open to, the birth of a New World?"
Day Three: Sunday, June 21. Today marks the last exact Venus and Mars conjunction at 6:10 am PDT. Sunday morning before dawn, the last exact conjunction of Venus and Mars can be seen at about 15 Taurus. By July 19, they will separate beyond ten degrees and there won't be another long visible Venus Mars union for another six and one half years.
What has been the lesson and teaching of this union? What does the union of the Cancer masculine and the Aries feminine feel like, especially in the sign of Taurus? Can we envision the union of a sensitive, feeling, giving, committed male with an autonomous, actional, mission and purpose directed female? Meanwhile the summer solstice ceremonial continues and the Moon approaches the Galactic Edge.
Day Four: Monday, June 22. The New Moon at the Galactic Edge near summer solstice is exact at 12:35 pm PDT at 1 Cancer 30. Many ancient cultures considered a particularly close New or Full Moon to the Solstice or Equinox to be extremely significant. It represents the union of solar and lunar mysteries, bringing these two uniquely independent cycles into step with one another. And here we have it happening at the Galactic Edge, at the junction of the galactic plane and the solar system's plane. Galactic Alignment indeed!
I see a day of deep opening to and an allowing of new creation, with profound gratitude to Great Mystery and a possible seeding of a new calendar. A new everything. Meanwhile, all day long, the Sun is continuing to stand still and is approaching its exact opposition to Pluto near the Galactic Center, occurring at 12:39 am PDT Tuesday morning.
Day Five: Tuesday, June 23. This features the ceremonial New Moon or the first visible evening Crescent Moon and it is fully accented by the Sun Pluto opposition. This ceremonial New Moon is called the Hilo Moon in the Hawaiian tradition. It is interesting to note that virtually all shamanically oriented people ceremonialized the "New Moon" by its first visible appearance.
Tuesday evening marks the end of these amazing five days of astrological shamanic ceremonial opportunities, and then a beginning. Inspired by the transmissions from the Galactic Edge, animated by Mars and Venus, and deepened by the Pluto activation near the Galactic Core, the incubated seeds are planted and we set our intent with the first visible Crescent Moon knowing the Earth Mother is in charge. Sidereal Astrology
The Juno-Uranus conjunction occurs just hours before the Balsamic Moon of June 19. The Balsamic Moon exactly conjoins Venus, Mars and Centuar Asbolus. Venus and Mars lie a fraction of a degree apart, about to conjoin on the June 21 solstice.
The synchronization of Venus and Balsamic Moon occurs only when Venus is at it "western elongation." The eastern and western elongations of Venus occur before and after each Earth-Venus synod (before and after the start of each new Earth-Venus synodic cycle). Zibal marks a pause, a point of consideration, along Eridanus, the river of life, inviting an introspective moment while Triangulum invites us to look beyond the dramatics of those around us and of own life scenarios to realize any entrapping conditions manifest in our lives are but a reflection of the projection of our own fears--a principle key in the revelation found along the river.
