So what made you let your son become a paid killer?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 417517

That is what confuses me about the american mentality (in general).
In one hand, I hear many americans (many of them posting here) condemning war, but at the same time, they "thank" soldiers for "their service".

I hear many of them that 'war is horrible' but glorigy soldiers.

To me, the difference between a murderer and a hero is a uniform and I don't see how I can send to jail one, but 'thank' the other one.

I would prefer that all of them sink. They would be a lot less misery in the world if America murderous military were destroyed.

Your last line show us all how you warpigs don't have a rational empathetic thought in your head.

If and when "Reality" comes to your backyard...well we'll miss you.

The only thing you have is the threats of violence. Anytime someone disagrees with you the very first thought is violence. You are what is wrong with the world. Keep sending your kids to fight for the corporations but don't expect any sympathy when they get their stupid heads blown off.

As for AC 703658

Exactly how much do you get paid for posting shit like you do?
Who do you work for?
How old are you?
How many family members do you have in the military right now?

You wanna have a discussion about soldiers, I've invited you before to bring it....but have the courage to start your own thread instead of tossing your trash onto others who are expressing concern for their loved ones.

YOUR WORDS HURT you sorry piece of shit. Why in hell would you want anyone to have to recoil from your thoughtlessness?

The outcome of his words have no chance of being as destructive as the murderous military is every day. They are killing people and destroying things while he is expressing thoughts in the web. Try to get your priorities in order.

Let's hope it sinks!

Most ridiculous comment ever. As a U.S. Navy veteran and proud supporter of our troops I am deeply offended that you would say you hope one of our strike groups sinks. If I were in your presence right now I would kick your f*ckin' ass without giving it a second thought.

Get in line buddy! There's a few on this thread that would like to show this AC what we used to call, "wall-to-wall counseling"

What's wrong with a good old fashioned blanket party for this woosified piece of shit. That way we all get to take part, sort of a "community project".

Do you have children? There comes a point where you have to let go....love them, and take pride in them..but they are an individual and not you. They will make their own decisions..some great and maybe some not so great, but will learn from all that they do and grow.

In other words, if you stop an adult (your child...which they will always be) from doing something whether you agree or not..you may lose them...could be marriage, college, work, travel, military, body adaptations or whatever...at some point you will have to realize they are themselves and are going to make their own choice.

Extremely well stated! My son recently joined the Navy and it was his choice alone. When the time comes, you pat them on the back, wish them the best of luck, tell them you love them, and turn and leave before they see that tear in your eye.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 706314

I still would never allow it. Mothers can be extremely persuasive.

That's why I'm educating my kids early on about the truth of it all. It's important that they understand that war is a sick game and those who enlist are pawns used by those who think they "rule" the world. Unfortunately, the truth hurts: those "in service" are paid killers. No wonder so many come back from war with severe mental issues; good people can't escape the fact that they just killed innocent people for money. I know I would be tormented for the rest of my life.

It's not about fighting for "rights and freedom"; those wars are fought at home against the so-called "elite".

OP, whatever happens was meant to be. I'm sure your boy will be back in your arms again soon. hf

You are talking to the mama of someone in great risk. Try to be somewhat respectful regardless of your views.

Thanks for the tip I'll try harder next time, but I still want to know why on earth any parent would allow this to happen, it makes no sense to me what so ever if any son of mine wanted to be a paid killer I simply would not allow it.

war - what is it GOOD for, absolutely nothing...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 703658

It's preferable to avoid war, but NEVER out of cowardice.

The U.S. military is prepared to fight evil tyrants, whether it be Saddam Hussein, Kim Jong Il, or perhaps in the future, Barack Hussein Obama.

We MUST take swift, and decisive, CRUSHING action against North Korea, should they launch a missile AT Hawaii or Alaska.

The missile's trajectory will determine our response.

But if the worst happens, we should all pray that in that moment, sissified Obama will grow a SPINE.

Wrong, BS boy..... this is how realistic people with conservative and self-preserving minds think..... this is how your world leaders think everyday.... There will NEVER be peace... it is human nature to be at each others throats, be it on an individual level or on national scales..... and so long as that is the case, it is our military's duty to take that fight to those want it -- not to let them bring it to our front doorstep.

Once again I invite RealityIsBS and AC703658 to propose their viable plans for a non-war society.

I believe the OP said he/she hoped that NOTHING CAME out of this grand saber rattling.

I HOPE that the general population of the world decides to turn off its TV and live life instead of watching the MSM dictate what they're supposed to believe!

That being said, we DO have a military, and those soldiers and sailors have families.

Saying something like "shouldn't have allowed it", or "your kid's a murder" is JUST AS provocative, but I guess one wouldn't understand that unless one had a loved-one in the middle of it.

Since you don't understand another's perspective, it doesn't give you the right to expect everyone else to live in your bubble of non-reality.

I'd like nothing more than a peaceful humanity....I've yet to figure out how to make that happen except with what I do every day. And clearly I've not acquired the perfection of soul that others have.

Here's my question to you "Reality"....you seem to believe you have all the non war answers. Is there a reason you haven't made a career of trying to make some changes internationally, or is your job simply to make anti-war comments on blog boards? I"m not saying that's a bad thing necessarily, if that's the case......

Warriors who defend our freedoms are to be honored ... but one needs to also recognize that as true Warriors they fear not death.

Death in battle is an honorable way to die for a Warrior. It is NOT to be feared and it is NOT to be looked upon with sadness.

As has been said countless times "It is not how long you live that is important, it is HOW you live that is important."

A parent's concern for their child is understandable, but when one's child CHOOSES the Warrior way of life that child, who by then is an adult, is making a conscious choice that they are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice WILLINGLY and the parent MUST respect that choice.

Pray for their safety, but if their fate is to die a Warrior then CELEBRATE, don't grieve, since they lived their life in such a way to bring honor onto their soul and the souls of those around them.

---------
(the ONLY exception to this is for draftee's who are NOT voluntarily choosing to lead a Warrior's life ... but such is not the case in the United States at the present)

I hardly attempt to control them; I educate them with the TRUTH.

And no, soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines lay it on the line each and every day so some sick fuck "at the top" can profit big time. Most just don't know it.

Self defense is one thing but America hasn't been defending itself since WWII. We've been attacking and exploiting. All the patriotic shit in your head is brainwashing.

Re: My son is currently on the USS Ronald Reagan strike fleet.
Our ideas of "sick attitudes" differ greatly.

How exactly is educating your children with the TRUTH sick? How can rearing peaceful, loving citizens as opposed to glorified paid killers be a bad thing?

And my land was free, until Europeans invaded it and made it into this fear-mongering slave society that so many seem hell-bent on "defending."

I love how you liberal asses keep calling the military "paid-killers" Hey, you dumb mother-fucker..... guess what????????? The people who our Military confronts on foreign lands EVERY DAY are also paid killers.... And if we didn't have our paid-killers keeping those people in check, then guess what..... you've got some other country's paid-killers standing at your doorstep ready to slit your fucking throat and rape your dead body..... Get your head out of your fuckin ass.... our miltary has to confront and fight people that you know deep in your heart you don't want to see left undisturbed....

Nice choice of words.

I'm assuming you think Arabs armed with box cutters took over planes and crashed them into the World Trade Towers, eh?

If so, there's no point conversing with you.

Enjoy your powerful country while it still exists... Personally I forbid my son to serve under this criminal regime and I've told him many times that this is not OUR Military anymore. It is a criminal force serving the global corporations and bankers who steal natural resources and install puppet governments for monetary gain..... Too bad you can't see this... In God's eyes, it pretty clear... it boils down to whats right, and whats wrong. aaannd who made the US the global police of the world anyway?

The U.S. made it's own fuckin' self the global police.... that's one of the perks of being strong and mighty.... you do whatever the fuck you want whenever the fuck you want.... and you know what? It sure beats the hell out of having to live on some other country's terms.... so if you don't like it.... fuck off and die.

You are the sickness that needs to be eliminated. You are a throwback from an brutal age that has no place in a civilized society.

Re: My son is currently on the USS Ronald Reagan strike fleet.
The outcome of his words have no chance of being as destructive as the murderous military is every day. They are killing people and destroying things while he is expressing thoughts in the web. Try to get your priorities in order.

Hey, BS Boy, I'll bet you're some anti-social little twerp who pisses his pants at the thought of any kind of confrontation. You're the kid who got bullied at school and was too much of a pansy to defend yourself. Well, bitch, let's use this metaphor on a global scale.... the U.S. Military represents the guy who doesn't take any shit and takes the fight to the aggressor..... and guess what would happen without the military.... our country would be like you.... small, weak, insignificant..... reduced to just sitting around spewing a bunch of BS rhetoric like yourself.... or NK or Iran for that matter... We are a powerful country thanks to our strong military but you wouldn't understand that comcept because you are a weak person.

Thank you for showing the world how military men think. You've made my point better than I could.

Let me ask you this.... would you fight for what you believe in? What if somebody said that they were gonna kill you for your beliefs... would you let them do it? Or would you defend yourself.... I think your answer to that question will show how shaky your foundation is when it comes you believing that you are some type of pacifist.

And there, my friend, is what is wrong with this country.... Nobody is patriotic anymore.... Now, everyone wants to believe that the U.S. is out to harm it's own citizens.... you are a paranoid freak.... you are lazy and worthless.... show some pride in your country and recognize it for the wonderful empire that it is before it crumbles because it's infested with weak-minded scum like you.
