"Chemtrails" are just what happens when jet aircraft fly through air that is supersaturated with respect to ice. That's it, end of story. If "chemtrails" were a real, physical phenomenon, then there would be real, physical evidence. That's all there is to it. Since lingering contrails can be explained my basic science, it would require evidence that doesn't fit that explanation in order to claim something else was going on.
