And Palin’s popularity among Alaskans has plummeted since the start of her governorship in part because she used public funds ($500 million) to subsidize a Canadian company’s effort to build a trans-Canada pipeline — which in addition to the tax hit on Alaskans, would provide jobs for Canadians at the expense of Alaskans. The AP also reported that Palin ordered the children's travel expense forms changed in August to add language claiming that they performed official state business on the trips. Alaska law allows governors to charge the state for their family's travel if they conduct state business. State Finance Director Kim Garnero said the governor's staff has the authority to make that determination. But event organizers told the AP they were surprised when the girls showed up, and some said they had no role. I like Governor Palin. I happen to like, admire, and respect Governor Palin I respect my fourth grade teacher, but I'm not at all sure she's fit to run the country. your fourth grade teacher should campaign for Governor and try running a state first. Then you will know if she is fit. I used to live there, so I can speak from experience when I say that if you put a former beauty queen in from of a state electorate that is 86% horny, lonely men, she'll get elected even if she makes a stupid statement that "because I live near Russia, I understand Russia. And can see them out my bedroom window." Like her all you want, she invited all of the criticism she got. boy, you have a low view of your fellow citizens! So if your fourth grade teacher was ugly sh would not get elected and if she was pretty, she would. Twice. And balance the budget. And outst the bad-doers. All because she is pretty. Then that must be why Jane Swift, Olene Swift Walker, Ruth Ann Minner got elected...or maybe that premise fails, if you see their photos. Gov Palin got elected because the majority of the electorate voted for her. Twice. Period. I agree and I love Palin. But please be accurate. Jane Swift was the worst "acting" governor Massachusetts ever had. Hands down. She was never elected Governor. She ran with Paul Cellucci as Lt Governor and became acting Governor when Cellucci became Ambassador to Canada. Now saying she was the worst Governor ever please remember Mike Dukakis that snivelling Greek pant load was elected Governor three times! ack gag choke. Jane was ten times worse. Dreadful.
