Gov Sanfords was in South America!

A McClatchy special correspondent visited the apartment building in Buenos Aires where the woman reportedly lives. The woman declined to talk to a reporter. The doorman at the building, shown a photograph of Sanford, said he did not recognize him

How would the reporter know who the woman is ?

In the Governor's speech today at the news (circus) conference, didn't he mention (apologize) that his affair wasn't fair to the Argentina woman's 2 sons???

Wonder what her husband thnks about all this? That is if she is married.

My thoughts exactly!

SC political blogs named her early on as being the reason for his visit out of the country.

At no time did he give her name
or address... so how would a
reporter know ?

At first he kept saying "person"...
which made one wonder is this person
male or female... then he did mention
her two sons.


Think people... if this is code,
what kind of code would it be ?

This may not be helpful to concerned readers, but I'd like to clarify something. Last night a poster, some thread concerning Sanford, said something to the effect that .... here, at the end of the world in NC.

I put up the link to Knotts Island, NC and remarked that locals call it "the end of the world" because driving down the road from Virginia Beach, you come to the end of the world when the road stops before going into the bay.

Not particularly sinister, any more so than concerns that are already being expressed across the board.

OK, I'll agree with you that it is a "rushed badly scripted cover story." However, the structure for the story was set early on in SC political blogs.

As far as I'm concerned, noone has been caught doing anything. Everything going down is more a matter of political shuffle getting ready for the incoming .....

I stand by Governor Sanford on the same side of the fence with him, his wife and children and his other supporters.

Time to buckle up.

We have a choice in this world, we have been given free will. This man choose not just to abandon and cheat on his wife but he choose to abandon his children on fathers day. It's sick to see you pander and make excuses for him. Would you feel the same if 'sin' have made him rape a child?

the SC local media has known for two months and held the story.

Mrs. Sanford asked Mark to leave two weeks ago. I'm telling you, he was dithering between the two, and told him to poop or get off the pot

"I would like to start by saying I love my husband and I believe I have put forth every effort possible to be the best wife I can be during our almost twenty years of marriage. As well, for the last fifteen years my husband has been fully engaged in public service to the citizens and taxpayers of this state and I have faithfully supported him in those efforts to the best of my ability. When I found out about my husband's infidelity I worked immediately to first seek reconciliation through forgiveness, and then to work diligently to repair our marriage. We reached a point where I felt it was important to look my sons in the eyes and maintain my dignity, self-respect, and my basic sense of right and wrong. I therefore asked my husband to leave two weeks ago.

This trial separation was agreed to with the goal of ultimately strengthening our marriage. During this short separation it was agreed that Mark would not contact us. I kept this separation quiet out of respect of his public office and reputation, and in hopes of keeping our children from just this type of public exposure. Because of this separation, I did not know where he was in the past week.

I believe enduring love is primarily a commitment and an act of will, and for a marriage to be successful, that commitment must be reciprocal. I believe Mark has earned a chance to resurrect our marriage.

Psalm 127 states that sons are a gift from the Lord and children a reward from Him. I will continue to pour my energy into raising our sons to be honorable young men. I remain willing to forgive Mark completely for his indiscretions and to welcome him back, in time, if he continues to work toward reconciliation with a true spirit of humility and repentance.

This is a very painful time for us and I would humbly request now that members of the media respect the privacy of my boys and me as we struggle together to continue on with our lives and as I seek the wisdom of Solomon, the strength and patience of Job and the grace of God in helping to heal my family."

Are they reporting that now? I mean I know they couldn't have said anything before because that would leak the story. It seems odd they would hold a story like that. I am just wondering how you found this out.

This was no affair.

The guy knows the nuclear war is imminent and has come up with this method of getting himself out of the country for good. You can bet that in less than 5 days he'll be back in Argentina with his family... and at that point you can expect to see missiles flying and the sun coming to earth in multiple locations.

Dread, this disappearance is/was not about an affair.

The affair may be real, but his behavior and disappearance was not over an affair / other woman. All the variables simply do not add up. Sorry, but they just don't.
