Re: There was once music 'til hip hop , rap and all that shit hit the fun
When someone says "I challenge you" to follow the crap of videos, the fact THAT is called 'lyrics' doesn't turn them into lyrics. That's preaching and is the same fucking thing in every single song. That's not music but just someone messing around the "disk' back and forth and unstoppable chit chat AS USUAL Even a white fellow seems to be the "best" rapper like a mulato seems to be the best golf player. The world is upside down nowadays! Now, if the challenge is holding your breath and shooting off the mouth to the same repetitive "rythim" at nauseum is called art, well that's because you have been consuming the same retarded thing since kids. Hence when an idiot says an instrument is an instrument I think he doesn't understand what's the meaning of mastering how to play instruments beyond a basic beat. Indeed to play a violin requires much more effort than an Australian aborigen tool. And of course we could compare the difficulties to play instruments with more strings than a guitar, let's say a lyre or a mandolin and so on.

HAHAHAHA playing with the disk back and forth. You ignorant ass. Try doing it.

Do rappers know the existence of the FLUTE used in the time of Flinstones?
[link to www.godlikeproductions.com]
Any of these black "players" would ever master something like things done by Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) , an instrument that we can also hear in Rapsody or..let's say Men At Work and many other bands? Of course I could mention the violin or cellos but I think you got my meaning.

Oh, yes! It requires a great deal of "skill" compared with musical instruments. You really are not an ignorant! And in spite of all that pseudo skill it always sound the same fucking thing in all bands! Wako-wako-wako-wako-phssss

Trying to teach a rapper or hip hop fan is like teaching to someone who was born blind the meaning of colors or to someone who has been eating sweet beans and pork to appreciate Thailandese chicken or Strogonoff or somebody who has drunk just beer in can to learn the taste of a vodka with coconout milk or vodka with curação blue and lemon. He's gonna shout 'what's this piece of shit?'. His taste es limited cos his culture is limited in all senses, even in art of other kind, let's say painting, decoration, clothes, whatever.

Don't you think even all that animal skin or pink Cadillacs or silver collars and golden chains and diamons is because at psycologycal level they know themselves or recognize THEIR UGLINESS has to be covered somehow? White people or Chinese don't feel intimidated, they don't have to wear parrot sort of things to shout "I'm here' because they don't consider themselves invisible. This is what's happening also with Japonese who are going to the plastic surgeons in order to change their eyelids not to look the fucking same thing!
So, some negro must dye their hair eventually, like albino or straighten their hair not to look like themselves but to imitate the very white ones they hate tooth and nail. Or is that or is the "disguise" of the rebel who got rich! Stupid people with stupid thing they believe is "music". What is SAD is now it became "fashion" by white people as well!

As far as I can tell..there has not been a change in music since before I was born. There are still seven modes to choose from, eight notes, only so many chord progressions (even with modal interchange) and so many "standard" time signatures.

The sounds of music have changed, but a chord is still a chord.

No matter what genre of music. Anything mainstream, sucks and is horrible.

The best is underground. Independent artists. As for the OP's comments on Hip Hop. Again... your listening to the mainstream crap. And yes... it is all crap, the mainstream that is. But most underground Hip Hop artists have either real talent, or talk about something else other than pimping, banging ect...

This can go under all genres. All music that changes a person and their attitudes. Not just hip hop, rap.

Re: There was once music 'til hip hop , rap and all that shit hit the fun
I'm not afraid of black music. I think you gotta review what I said, I admitted from the very beginning the influence of black music in jazz and blues and even in rock and roll. I would have to be very stupid to deny that historical fact. Sometimes I enjoy some Reggae and I loved the old Boney M music which sound like something from Jamaica (even in Rasputin, M-Baker, The Rivers of Babylon songs). Santana uses Latin and Black influence in his music and so does Peter Gabriel whose music is undescribable. I'm well aware of good black music 'cos music is beyond frontiers. But that seems something of the past even in the artists I'm quoting who look like caricatures of themselves back in good old days. Mc Cartney from Beatles can't get a single good tune out of his a$$ nowadays. Inspiration went somewhere else into stratosphere. I'm eclectic, I enjoy Irish music within and outside of rock and roll parameters. I already wrote I enjoy Arabian music which mingles art from white and black people as well. The purpose of this thread is to trigger the interest in order to expand the limits of the listeners of crap. Yet it's impposible unless these sort of people educate themselves better even in lyrics. If someone wastes (I don't say "spend" but wastes) his/her life hearing litter which clicks on the same button songs talking about how to enslave women and the description of insults or screwing them over and over, these people won't ever have ears to listen to antiphonal Gregorian Benedictin chants or Yes chorus and even Bee Gees Australian falsetto or Freddy Mercury's tones , Roger Daltrey from The Who and so on.

I don't have to be sophisticated to like music. It could be electronic stuff as well. For instance, I ignore who did the following music but I really enjoy it:
[link to www.youtube.com]
Yet, if the music behaves the same ad infinitum there's a boundary, a very limited frontier.
Country music is not crap. Every music has the specific range, I admit that, and yet when you listen all sort of music you learn to distinguish between what is art and what is crap. When someone says the tones or the chorus or the instruments remain the same, it doesn't eliminate the fact for Christ's sake. We have the same letters of alphabet and yet there's a huge bridge between Shakespeare and Herman Melville and "Cube".

I guess there's theory about painting too and people imagine a canvas drawn and painted by the trunk of an elephant or an ape is also "art" and will try to compare that with Dali' or Renaissence art. Of course there will be defenders of rap and hip hop and I say unto you if that is art it's just a reflection of people with poor taste. What else, Mr. Winningjob is capable to listen and appreciate I wonder? I mean, at least to compare and have a sort of rule in order to measure what is art? If in the time of Flinstones people were using flutes and this black fuckers of their own moms haven't used that instrument it's maybe because THEY CAN'T PLAY A FUCKING THING except the "skill" to use an already recorded disc, right? Exile sets a video 'hip-hop, hip-hop' is dead (repeat 1.000 times please 'cos is preaching) and the same brother making the same gestures we see in every fucking single "song" by every fucking single "artist", and what exactly is the sound at the back that we can detect? Don't tell me! : it's good OLD rock and roll. Since they lack inspiration they had to buy the rights and use it as a basic piece in order to build upon the bla-bla-bla chit shitty chat. Wow! How clever indeed!

It was in the 60's and 70's were great compositions arose and they were the ones who had to play the keyboards. I guess people listening hip hop or rap don't have an idea what was... let's say Uriah Heep in a beautiful July morning:

Now even Madonna has to buy the rights to copy ABBA (European band) and change that song into a street funky dance.

BTW, Maddona had to beg ABBA Sweden composers and pay (the composers are Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus) to sample Gimme Gimme in order to "create" her Hang Up. The Fugees in 1996 did Rumble in the Jungle which was a remix of ABBA's The Name of the Game.

You know this pisses me off too.

I know a few people, smart people, they will probably become doctors, scientists and the like in the next few years.

They like this kind of music, its absolute misogynistic trash at times, I fail to understand.

I thought i was a pretty smart guy, but i just dont understand peoples idiotic taste in film, literature and music.

Its like im surrounded by the lowest common denominators.

Ok, friend when did I say was the "ONLY ONE KNOWING THE TOPIC"? Are you putting words in my mouth? I think so. Yes, you and all should study and learn as much as possible and not just in music, but languages, science, religion, and many other areas. ART..itself is subjective, but the concepts of what is in many fields that works remains the same..doesn't matter what field..there are things that EVERYONE agrees on and then the rest is sujbective.

You seem to be "STUCK" on one idiom of art..which shows that not only did you miss what I was saying, but need to meet those in things you like and dislike before you open your mouth and appraise or trash that in which you can not understand, appreciate or condemn.

You mention letters and language and difference..maybe you could spend more time understanding communication and the beauty of the people doing so instead of telling everyone they have like or not like something. Certainly, you didn't see me telling others someone "HAS" to like or dislike something..but you feel it needs to be your way.

THE FUCKED up thing is, if you brought me a box and could not talk, dance, write or sing, but could show me something with your box I would consider you communicating and possibly artistic..you fail to see that and put words in my mouth instead.
