Belief is how the game actually works. What you believe is good or evil is how the parameters of the game is set. Some believe that raping 12 year old girls is good and many believe that its bad. If you asked the 12 year old girls though Im sure most believe that it is bad. But according to moderate Muslims homosexuality is believed to be bad and they put homosexuals to death because they believe that its evil. But head on over to San Francisco where tolerant people live and the have mostly tolerant beliefs and Gay people are embrace as friends neighbors and decent humans.

The only benefit to a self-importance trip is that it prompts us to move beyond human mundanity. Better to ask the spirit if you are doing the right thing rather than other people. Since all human motivation ultimately derives from the negative, when you attempt to manifest the positive you will invariably also/only attract the opposite.
Your query is also the result of exploitation, although the primary motivation behind that exploitation is to provoke you into action, especially through the construction of internal dissonance. Every thought a human has is largely initiated from outside, and the thoughts rather than primal in nature are merely a reaction to external input.
This external input is also designed to draw attention and thereby energy to keep humans in a weakened energetic state.
The laws are strict and binding upon all who enter into this world. There is only one way out and it is called the path or the way or the narrow road. All the ditches along the way are there to prevent us from reinforcing error.
Self-control is the key and there are many levels to it. What humans term self-control is merely the lowest expression and must eventually be surpassed.

The rules of good and evil are not anymore a game unless you consider life and death a game. To break the rules down to their quantum parts it could be said that good is that which encourages life or rather that force that violates the laws of natural entropy to the benefit of life. In the same simple way Evil is that which discourages life.
The reason its not this simple is because "context" matters. Keeping a well balanced environment in check by killing/controlling a segment of the animal population wouldn't be evil (it encourages life). The same logic applied to humans wouldn't work since human progress to the next level of life (heaven, afterlife, etc) is dependent on/heavily influenced by our "moral" decisions here. It was our creators intention for us to have an order higher that this. "Moral" law is guided by God or the Holy Spirit (the force that perpetuates life in the face of entropy). If we were first (God) then that guide/force would simply be the Hold Spirit. Impeding our development, in attempt to abort our eternal rise, would be of the utmost evil (counter to the Hold Spirit).
The horrible danger here is assuming that you might be wise enough to violate God's law and still be within the confines of the Holy Spirit. This type of arrogance on the part of man is the precisely the original sin (biblically defined).
As empirical observers it is extremely difficult for us to understand the higher order "moral" conflict for one who is eternal. For us to make decisions based on any actual facts is impossible since we aren't eternal (yet). Our only recorded interaction with an eternal (God) perpetuates the concepts that he simply cannot be associated with evil in any way. The rules that God have laid out are the only way in the human "context" (not God's eternal context) that we can do Good (perpetuate life).
