First off, you must be in a year round school because school is out for regular school here in the U.S. Next tell that bitch to go fuck herself and is she continues to threaten you with obscure threat, that you will proceed to get lawyer and then you will go to the press to let them know how your child's school is threatening you and trying to get your child infected. Well, you can keep your kid out of school if you want to; I doubt if the school is going to waste their time chasing you around the mulberry bush on this one.

On the other hand, the school flunkies are correct in that if your kid plays with other kids, he or she will probably catch the flu anyway, given that flu is pretty communicable and common.

What I don't understand is why your kid is even in school, seeing as how it's summer-time and regular classes are over for the year. If I were you, I'd be more concerned about what happens this fall, when the incidence of flu is higher and more kids are back in school.

Edited: I just re-read the posts and realize that you live in the UK. I don't know what power the school system has there; maybe they can come down on you like a ton of bricks.

Maybe you ought to see a solicitor (that's what you call them, right?) and find out what your legal options are.

You have no rights in the UK. We barely have any left in the US. But we can still homeschool at any second in most states. Can you file to homeschool?

To be honest I'd send the child. I think this thing will mutate and get much stronger- that will give your child a dose of immunity. And if she gets it have a doctor test and confirm- that will help you get out of any mandatory vaccination programs.

OP take your child back to school on the stipulation the school will sign a responsibility form in the event your child does contract the illness, they will be held financially liable. I guarantee you they will back off.

I'm from the area in Texas where the first school closing due to swineflu in US. No biggy, send her to school, hope she gets a mild case and is then gets immunity from the worst form coming this fall.
When I was a kid (in Europe) mum tried to get me the mumps so I would not have a problem later in life. Never got mumps.

I've had H1N1, as have my kids. We didn't die, weren't interred in a Fema camp and didn't start seeing mother abigail.
