Mile wide UFO seen by British pilots June 30, 2009
One of the largest UFOs ever seen has been observed by the crew and passengers of an airliner over the Channel Islands. An official air-miss report on the incident several weeks ago appears in Pilot magazine.

Aurigny Airlines captain Ray Bowyer, 50, flying close to Alderney first spotted the object, described as "a cigar-shaped brilliant white light".Aurigny Airlines captain Ray Bowyer, 50, described what he thought to be a UFO as 'a cigar-shaped brilliant white light', similar to the image supplied by Dennis Plunket of the British Flying Saucer bureau

As the plane got closer the captain viewed it through binoculars and said: "It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area.

"It was 2,000ft up and stationary. I thought it was about 10 miles away, although I later realised it was approximately 40 miles from us. At first, I thought it was the size of a [Boeing] 737.

"But it must have been much bigger because of how far away it was. It could have been as much as a mile wide."
Continuing his approach to Guernsey, Bowyer then spied a "second identical object further to the west".

He said: "It was exactly the same but looked smaller because it was further away. It was closer to Guernsey. I can't explain it. This was clearly visual for about nine minutes.

"I'm certainly not saying that it was something of another world. All I'm saying is that I have never seen anything like it before in all my years of flying."

The sightings were confirmed by passengers Kate and John Russell. John, 74, said: "I saw an orange light. It was like an elongated oval."

The sightings were also confirmed by an unnamed pilot with the Blue Islands airline.
The Civil Aviation Authority safety notice states that a Tri-Lander aircraft flying close to Alderney spotted the object.

There was a prediction last year of a huge ship being visible, but did not appear because there was word the government would try to destroy it. lol, no way, not a chance. But they didn't appear because they will not with anyone could get hurt on the ground (us) or in their ship. We'll be hearing about more sightings very soon, I bet!

I saw a video like this a couple of years ago, it was a bit longer but it showed the craft shooting large balls of energy from the center light just obliterating large cites.

Would have made a decent movie. A great example of what an attack would be like and how utterly screwed we would be.

it is indeed from two years ago (do a google search " mile wide UFO kent")

most report return a date of publishing as June 2007 the incident in fact occurred earlier in that year and was part of a larger UFO flap that occurred in that area in early 2007 (Do_not_use_this.com/26v26t & Do_not_use_this/nzr3rs) captain ray bowyer is name checked for the references to the mile wide UFO ( bowyer interviewed on UK chat show can be seen here Do_not_use_this.com/29bljc). Interestingly enough the size is also claimed at twice the size of a jumbo jet

The reliable date of the incident is 23/4/2007

Interestingly enough 5 days later the following highly unusual event occurred in southern England geographically close to the channel islands

Do_not_use_this.com/ypedk3

Applying occams one has to conclude that the pilot witnessed the scientifically established phenomena of pre quake earthlights and not a space ship

Occam's rule? Hardly. You don't hypothesize an explanation for which there is no independent evidence even if it IS the simpler explanation.

Er, debunkers should try and come up with a more plausible explanation for what this pilot saw. But we all know they can't when the object in question was estimated to be up to a mile wide.

A highly experienced pilot can tell you that exhaustion and certain weather conditions can play nasty tricks with your brain, then add some paranoia and the picture is complete.

This pilot was NOT:
1. exhausted;
2. paranoid.

The weather conditions were normal.

Arguing from the possible to the actual is acceptable only if you don't ignore the facts.
