Goldman  essentially borrowed a $5 billion salary payout for its executives in the middle of the global economic crisis it helped cause, using half-baked accounting to reel in investors, just months after receiving billions in a taxpayer bailout. 
Some of us have to play by the rules, while others get a note from the principal excusing them from homework till the end of time,  plus 10 billion free dollars in a paper bag to buy lunch. 
Carbon Credit Scam - there will be limits for industries on the amount of carbon emissions they can produce per year. They will be able to buy credits from other companies that have produced fewer emissions. Credits will be less available with each passing year,  increasing the value.
Goldman  owns a 10 percent stake in the Chicago Climate Exchange, where the carbon credits will be traded, and a minority stake in Blue Source LLC, a firm that sells carbon credits.  Al Gore’s company, Generation Investment Management, invests in carbon offsets. Gore’s associates are David Blood, Mark Ferguson and Peter Harris, former leaders of Goldman Sachs.

I'm flabbergasted, it sounds like our modern economy is a Ponzi scheme based on cheap energy and an ever growing global population, which will double (again) in another 60 years.

I knew this "carbon credit" shit was a scam.
Its overly complicated on purpose for a reason. That reason is to hide the mechanism's function which is simply, to steal money. The ingenious part is that they are passing it all off as a la-la land environmental gift to the masses. Its a bunch of Republicans passing off a load of shit and blaming it on the Democrats (who are admittedly, STUPID enough to let it happen).
Its now official. There is BIG money to be made in alternate energy. But of coure the usual list of suspects will show up to steal the lions share of it.
