She wants better for her State and this country. You cant blame her. She is very real and not one of these other jokers out to make this a socialist country. I cant say I blame her. America will wake up one day to late to see that wow we put this man in office and look at the state of our country going down hill. I just believe she doesnt want anything todo with it and doesnt want to serve under him. |

A woman of childbearing age is never taken seriously. Only when they are past the age of child bearing are men able to see their other qualities.
It was a mistake for McCain to pick a still fertile woman. Instinctively, people see through a haze of sexuality when fertile women are about.
Like Hillary, you mean? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 651707
Yes, she's past the age of childbearing, as well as alot of those women in congress and senate. You don't see anyone sexualizing them for this very reason. Therefore, they are taken more seriously. |

This is from MSNBC:
"There was no immediate word as to why she will step down before the end of her first term, though some have speculated in the past that she may be interested in running for president in 2012."
So, who'd vote for someone who quit before the end of a first term? Huh? no takers?
She can put quitter on her long (snicker) resume.
Why do they pay these people to write this garbage.
[ link to www.msnbc.msn.com]
um, obama quit the senate in his first term to run for president, dimwit
Not quite the same thing but nice try...
it is the same thing, senate terms are 6 years, if palin runs for president in 2012 then she would serve 2/3 of her senate term if elected in the next couple of months. Obama served 45 months of his term campaigning for HALF of that. So don't sit there and tell me its not the same thing with a condecending tone you idiot
Senators dont govern their state you IDIOT..
i thought it was implied that she obviously resigned as governer to pursue a seat in the senate. If thats all you can do is look over my posts and dissect small flaws, then you are clearly losing this debate
She isn't running for the senate.. mark my words.. that would be a step down in political terms..
please explain
When you are an executive of a state you supposedly know how to govern an entity .. only 15 senators have ever become president..
Yeah, okay, but it seems that the senate is the next step on a ladder though
It is not.. esp given the fact that she is a well known governor at this point.. She has to be leaving politics for one reason or another to step down like this..
We'll just have to see how this pans out, i see your arguement but i still believe shes trying the senate. Quoting: jnchisox1

It was not a mistake for McCain to pick a fertile woman. It was a mistake for McCain to think ALL women would flock to his fertile-woman running mate due to their disappointment over Hillary's failure to be nominated for VP. Those are the fertile women McCain and Palin didn't take seriously. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 708827
This thread is proof that Palin was a mistake. All people can do is talk about her looks and sexuality, or how dumb she is (much of that is the stereo type that beauty = dumb). They can't see past those things. |

IF she is in fact resigning, then I'd say her political career is over. Which may be what she wants.
As I do not consider MSNBC to be entirely credible, and most certainly entirely biased, it seems to me prudent to await believable confirmation of this resignation claim.

But Palin also hinted at her own national ambitions, invoking a quote that she credited to Gen. Douglas MacArthur: “We are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction.”
Palin has been dogged by a series of ethical complaints, many of which her allies consider as frivolous, and has had to set up a legal defense fund to pay her bills.

As the Myspace and Facebook generation of females grows up and wants to enter politics, there will be far too many posted nude shots, ex-boyfriend sex videos and Girls Gone Wild videos to scandalize them. You'll note that in most every amateur video the guy's face isn't shown, while the lady is there in all her glory. |

MOSCOW — The Russian government has agreed to let American troops and weapons bound for Afghanistan fly over Russian territory, providing an important new corridor for the United States military as it escalates efforts to win the eight-year-old war, officials on both sides said Friday.
The agreement, to be formally announced when President Obama visits here Monday and Tuesday, represents one of the most concrete achievements in his attempt to press the reset button after years of tension between the United States and Russia. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 488861
