Um, I see what you mean dude, but, um, LIFE means you're never getting out. But if it were say 25 years, then yeah, I see where you are going with that. When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!"

Just another excuse to attack, imo. Why don't some men feel humiliated when they are punished for illegal crimes? |

Punishment and humiliation are one thing. Sending this guy off to prison for the rest of his life is quite another.
What happens to a kid who gets spanked for being naughty? They learn through humilation. What happens to a kid who's parents beat the holy hell out of him for peeing the bed? He grows up to be a serial killer. When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Oh, that SUCKS when that happens.
No I don't know the guy. But what difference does that make? "Justice is blind." I don't care who it is, a life sentence for this is beyond inappropriate.
And of course I was generalizing a bit above there with the example of punishment overkill, but I'm sure you see my point. When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.

Here goes one to think about ....why do 15 year old girls want to hook up with older guys ? Why do they try so hard to do it ? I have seen this go on time after time since my teenage years. Young teenage girls like older men !!!
tell them why ladies. You know the answer. Tell the truth !

---V--- Quoting: Spirit * Man !
You are correct. Most 15 yo girls look about 21 now- they WANT to be older, act older, and be with older guys. A 15 yo boy is nowhere near as mentally mature as a 15 yo girl (always exceptions of course). Teen girls strongly prefer older guys, hands down.
Sending a man to prison for life for that isn't going to change it.
And if you're going to be that harsh with the man then the girl's parents shoulder responsibility as well for allowing their 'baby' to be unsupervised. Either she's a thinking person or she isn't. If she is then the girl played a part as well. If she isn't, then she needs round the clock supervision so she doesn't hurt herself or get victimized.
She wasn't prepubescent. I see a huge difference between a developed teen girl giving consent and a REAL child. |

You obviously didn't read the thread title:
This man was trying to LURE a teen for sex. A life sentence is harsh, but do we know whether this man had previous convictions or a record for molestation or being a sex offender?
Disgusting.
And there has been a lot of talk here about the parent's job this and that. Well, wake up folks, if I see a teen being irresponsible I correct them! I don't walk away and shake my head. I've done it many many times and will keep doing it. Point being: It's all of our responsibility to to make sure our children are safe.
And by the way:
There was a news show who had confiscated a tape made by a child molester. This tape showed a man raping a 9 month baby girl. Did you know they trade photos of toddlers and babies in vulgar positions as if they baseball cards?

When in rome...
If ya can't stick to legal women, then move to a country where the age of consent is lower. It's not worth the risk. I'm not saying I agree with the laws, but good idea to obey them.
It's funny to read articles that describe someone as a "child" at 17 years old.
They should lower the age of consent, drinking age, marriage age, smoking age, and the age one can be tried as an adult, to a flat 16.
Too many loopholes in the law that charge the really young as adults when they don't have the freedoms that adults have. |

Let me explain. He should be punished in SOME way, but he shouldn't get the same sentence as someone who commits murder or rape. That's a symptom of social insanity. Another point to consider is that entrapment/enticement may not be the best use of resources. It's a bit like some undercover policeman convincing you to steal a DVD at a store. He put the thought of the crime in your head. |

Don't assume that that 18-year-old girl you chat with is an adult.
Don't assume that she's not really a man.
Ignore the "15-year-old" who comes on to you in the chat room.
In the real world, get two valid proofs of ID to make sure she's legal, no matter how she looks or what she says.
If your girlfriend is a bit under the legal age of consent, wait for her magic birthday before you go there.
Follow this advice. It'll save you a world of hurt. |
