First and foremost we were denied our right to vote for those in political office. Today far too many of our own citizens are being denied their right to vote for our political leaders simply because the 2 main political parties are afraid to allow them to cast their votes. We saw this in this past election with the court challenges brought by the Democrats against the absentee votes cast by our military personnel overseas. Over the years we have seen Federal Ballot Boxes destroyed, hidden or misplaced and replaced by fraudulent ballot boxes, voting machines that fail to properly register people’s votes when they cast their vote for one person or another and by simply ignoring or failing to count all of the votes. In far too many states the winner of an election is announced prior to the counting of the absentee votes and the absentee votes are never counted or added to the official vote count.
The next major infraction of the law was the unreasonable and excessive taxation we were forced to endure. Today we also are faced with excessive taxation, which again is collected in direct violation of the Constitution. Starting with Income Taxes, vehicle registration taxes, driver’s license taxes, sales taxes, property taxes and ending with tonnage taxes or road usage taxes charges for the shipment of goods on state and federal roads. Every time the government charges any citizen any fees it is a tax and nothing more or less."
Do enough citizens exist to take the nation back?
My answer....NO...there are too many shills, sheep, cowards, too many blind people who deny that we are in real trouble. They would rather hide behind their doors with the blinds closed and turn the TV on and get fed propaganda garbage than seek the real truth and stand up and fight. Then again, most of them would be out of breath just standing up because they can't handle their own fat asses.

 | | Re: Happy Independence Day GLP | Quote | Thought I'd throw this one out there. I felt pretty battered yesterday with all of the "hate the US" threads and comments that filled this site.
I'm PROUD of the US. I'm PROUD that several hundred years ago my forefathers came to the shores of this land either coerced or voluntarily (still not sure about which), and somehow or another got involved in making a life for a small family. That generation expanded 10 fold (literally) and married into a similar family with a similar story. They had the kind of guts it took to start from scratch and build a life that has deposited a great wealth into me and my children and grandchildren 8 generations later.
As time passed on, situations called for modifications and shifts in paradigms, but the BASIC elements of personal responsibility and respect for heritage and hard fought lives has remained a part of the character I now imbue to my grand children.
My mother's side of the family fled Nazi occupation of her homeland in WWII and she was the first generation born in the US. This only strengthened the ideals of hard work and respect for what they had to leave and what they had to do to make a new life in a new place.
Never once have I felt as though I was a victim to the winds of change; never once have I felt I was OWED a life. Rather, I have always believed that this country was ripe with opportunity and that my choices made it possible for me to reflect that to future generations.
We are a spoiled society today in the US. We have grown angry and stubborn at the thought that someone would dare take what we feel entitled to. What a great lie that is. The quiet resolve to remain dedicated to our families through great changes is the key to the kind of freedom everyone clamors about. Respect for myself and for the choices others make is the fertile ground that grows future hopes and dreams.
What we as a nation have come to expect are our "rights" are the very things that we whine about when the truth of the cost is exposed. Realizing the conveniences we have and being thankful for them is quite different than protesting because we have to keep the thermostat a bit lower (for example). How many thousands of malls and office buildings have AC/heat and toilets on every floor? It's not an infringement on your right if you use a small desk fan instead of having the AC cranked. We never think twice when we flush the toilet or turn on the water faucet, but there are places on this earth where there is neither.
We have the opportunity to do great things for our friends, families, and neighbors....but build walls and fences instead. We CAN adjust our lifestyles, but prefer to buy our produce from the super markets....then whine about the high prices and lack of choices.
I think a great dose of "in all things give thanks" is in order. Step out of the hate for a few minutes today and look at all there is to be thankful for....and pass that along to another!
And today....that's what I will remember.
I found this wee quote and in my mind, it sums it up:
"There are two visions of America. One precedes our founding fathers and finds its roots in the harshness of our puritan past. It is very suspicious of freedom, uncomfortable with diversity, hostile to science, unfriendly to reason, contemptuous of personal autonomy. It sees America as a religious nation. It views patriotism as allegiance to God. It secretly adores coercion and conformity. Despite our constitution, despite the legacy of the Enlightenment, it appeals to millions of Americans and threatens our freedom.
"The other vision finds its roots in the spirit of our founding revolution and in the leaders of this nation who embraced the age of reason. It loves freedom, encourages diversity, embraces science and affirms the dignity and rights of every individual. It sees America as a moral nation, neither completely religious nor completely secular. It defines patriotism as love of country and of the people who make it strong. It defends all citizens against unjust coercion and irrational conformity.
"This second vision is our vision. It is the vision of a free society. We must be bold enough to proclaim it and strong enough to defend it against all its enemies."

Wow. What selfcentered BS.
You want to know about our country? Here it is.
We're the most powerful country on the planet. We're not as powerful as we used to be, but even in the middle of two wars, we could still kick everyone's ass.
Our goverment is lead by a combination of idealists and corruption. The republicans have lost their way, and the democrats have been trying to get back in power for so long, now that they have it, they don't know what to do with it.
The economy has taken a hit. It's still the strongest on the planet. We're done a bunch of stuff to save it. Chances are it would have gotten better on it's own without any help.
Humanity is not a bunch of sheep, it's a bunch of imitators. There's a difference. Let me give you an example.
Take a school of fish. Give them two instincts: 1) to remain within a foot of each other. 2) Look for food. The bunch of fish will expand and contract but basically remain right where it is and eventually die unless food wanders up to them.
Take away the first instinct, the school disbands. Take away the second, the fish die. But if you take one fish and take away the first instinct, suddenly you have one fish heading off in one direction, dragging everyone else along.
Humanity is like that, except it's a society thing. We imitate what works. We follow, but we change. If anti-communism is sucessful, people become anti-communist. If communism works, we become communism.
Most people think they are individuals, but we are mostly the same. Only a few people are truly comfortable being different. (Many people at this web site, I reckon.) But that's the way it should be. The guy who lives in his bomb shelter waiting for DOOM, right now is the freak. If the doom comes, let me assure you, everyone will follow that 'freak'.
Diversification. It's a survival trait for humanity. Only about 1% of the population is truly different and original. The other 99% watch them and then change to become like them. of the 1% who are different, only 1% is successful. the other 99% are sacrificed going down blind alleyways that don't go anywhere. But maybe the enviroment will change and one of those 99% percent of the 1% will suddenly be very successful. Then everyone follows them.
It's what happened with the recent mortgage crisis. One person was very successful. Every bank imitated him. They were all successful, until they ran right off a cliff. There's a realignment, bunch of people suffer, bunch of people profit, and viola, humanity goes on.
I love talk of doom and the eventual failure of humanity, but every example points to only PART of humanity. Some part of humanity is always failing. It's how we're made. And as part of us fail, the majority change and imitate the current success. They'll always lag behind the true leaders, but true leaders are the first ones over the cliff.
America rocks. We glorify the unique individual. We love him. We also ruthlessly feast upon his remains when he fails. It's cold. It's cruel. It's successful.
We're the best in the world. We're going to remain the best in the world. Not because we're better, or stronger, or smarter, but because we've got more diversification then anyone else. We're got the mongrels, the mutants, the freaks, the weird and we welcome them.
Those of you who point to our failures and say, 'That's why we won't survive' are wrong.
Those failures are EXACTLY why we will. The prophets had it wrong. The end is past and we didn't even blink. |

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Seven banks were closed by regulators on Thursday, including six in Illinois, bringing the total for 2009 to 52 as the U.S. banking system remains under pressure from rising unemployment and record foreclosures.
The John Warner Bank, in Clinton, Ill., was closed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was appointed receiver. The FDIC then sold the bank's deposits and most of its assets to State Bank of Lincoln, in Lincoln, Ill.
The same Illinois regulator also shut the First State Bank of Winchester, in Winchester, Ill., and appointed the FDIC receiver. The federal agency said it then sold the bank's deposits and most of its assets to the First National Bank of Beardstown, in Beardstown, Ill.
Rock River Bank, in Oregon, Ill., was also closed and the FDIC appointed receiver. The regulator sold the bank's deposits and most of its assets to the Harvard State Bank, in Harvard, Ill.

We talk about the power of the people and how we can restore our rights and liberties, but the more we try, the more our enemies in Washington DC try to strangle us into submition.
We are in a near crisis situation today, As a sovereign minded individual you can free yourself and teach others about freedom and liberty and how not to be dependent on a huge federal mafia and it's corporations that enslave you and do not have your best interest in mind.
The greatest display of standing up to these criminals has always been seen on the local and state levels. This is where we have a chance to make a difference. I remember when the patriot act was defeated in several local jurisdictions around the country, and watching the states introduce legislation to claim state sovereignty or restore it's constitutional rights whenever the federal gun grabbers start closing in on us.
It is of my greatest opinion that for us to truly be independent, our states must be independent...

Not gonna be able to go to the lake or pool today, but, haha oddly enough, I will be taking a nap and watching a movie. "Courage & knowledge always triumph over fear & ignorance"
