Yellow means slightly upgraded magnetic storm--like caution.
RED means there is a faily powerful one going on.
In 1999-2000 there were some off the scale flares and the mag storms lasted for days.
If you listen to AM radio that is the first to get taken out -then more powerful ones- your FM radio will sound like shit -all static and channels coming in and out.
So you can tell just by driving your car or listening at home just how affected you are.
It is now going RED

The solar activity will remain low as active region Catania#14 (NOAA 11024) now shows a slow decline. There is still only a slight chance of a C flare. The geomagnetic field is now very quiet and is expected to remain mostly quiet.
