You create these barriers for yourself. Things to focus on in this "Reality" to advance on.

You need to look inward. Advance your ENERGY. NOT your mind. Ask YOURSELF questions... not God. If God is within you, then asking yourself IS asking God... Therefore, you already know the answer.

Very cool, thank you for your input.

One last question...how does this then relate to the moment to moment interactions?
Do we enjoy one another as navigators of the same journey and goal? Are others even actually real? Can we truly share anything? What of romantic realtionships? Do they even serve a purpose of we are all to look internally?

Every person is a real person. All with the same struggle. Even you are guilty of stopping someone's spiritual advancement. The hardest part is realizing that this is a SELF-journey. When you move on, you will leave people behind. And the biggest problem with this is that you will have guilt in thinking about advancing by yourself. But if you move on, the rest will follow.

Whether this was real or simply exacerbated by the drugs - you'll know in your heart. But then again it really doesn't matter which. Your mind/soul is warning you of evil and you're in the midst of it.

The only smart thing to do is to ask for Christ's forgiveness (first and foremost) and then for his protection against these entities that you may have opened and invited into you life. Start changing friends. And fast. Drop the old ones as quickly as you possibly can without being painfully obvious about doing so. Above all, do not put yourself in a position where you're "hanging out" with them, don't do the drugs again, ever! And pray!

As demonic entities, they can read your thoughts to a certain extent. Thats a known fact about demons. They can also exercise some "super natural" powers that can manifest in various ways. Do not be afraid or impressed.

You are NOT loosing your mind. You are being warned and Christ has his hand on you - he does not want to loose you and your immortal soul to these entities and their father - Satan.

If you find yourself with this group and cannot get away instantly, don't drink, don't do drugs and think about and pray silently to Jesus for guidance and protection. (Let them read that, if they dare!)

Push comes to shove, the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST can be used to command them. They cannot refuse to obey. Use this only if you must to save you self or those around you. But it will work long enough to get yourself away from them if you were to be in a situation where harm to you or others seemed imminent.

When I went thru something similar in my youth - this group of demonic entities suddenly had people dying around them. A girl OD'd - a guy had a heart attack. Another walked out into the NYC night on a snowy evening and froze to death naked when he passed out by some trash cans. All in all there were five deaths in two weeks. The bodies just kept showing up at every opportunity. I had the feeling that somehow these people were lured to their deaths by some effort on the part of this group. It scared me so badly I got away from them and never looked back. Today, over forty years later, I'm sure I did the right thing and I'm equally sure these entities were out to kill people and send them to hell. Like a hunting squad for Satan. How I ever got mixed up with them, I'll never know. I think I screwed one of the girls, and then she introduced me to the others. But I'm not sure... anyway, I got unentangled with and from all of them in a very short time.

I would recommend you do the same and do it fast. Pray for divine protection and help as you disentangle yourself from these entities.

One day I discovered a secret that I will not post, but since then, anytime I think about, talk about or notice something that does not make sense, it is like an entity comes in and takes over my friends and family members to distract me.

As for the job comment. I had one and quit it cause it was horrible for me. I'm trying to find something else now but as you can imagine the current job market kinda sucks.
