I would say your numbers are off by a bit. Unemployment is most likely around 15-20%.

Using the government's own figures, statistics in ALL the 11 categories reflecting unemployment it is oveer 20% unemployed, under employed, etc.
On this curve the result will be continued increasing unemployment and financial devastation on people.

Read this dummy:
Total amount of people who are out of work but seeking employment, divided by the total amount of people in the labor force. The labor force is defined as anyone who is either currently working at a job, or actively seeking a job. People that do not have jobs (yet are not trying to get one) are not part of the labor force, and are not technically considered unemployed. Often seeking a job within the past month is used as qualification for being considered in the labor force.

You do realize that Unemployment numbers only count those that file for unemployment not just those without jobs. These statistics do not count, underemployed, students, those who have been jobless longer then 6 months and no longer qualified for unemployment, people that have had pay or hour cuts, those living on the streets or shelters that cannot get unemployment.
I bet if you actually counted "Those without a full time job paying a living wage" there would be maybe 60% if that. Meaning over 30% actually cannot sustain themselves or families. |

Im do not know the population of the united states, i think its in between 100 million and 300 millions, but for arguments sake lets say there are 100 million, ten percent of that is 10 thousand, now of course we know that the real un employment rate is way more than 10% conservative estimates are between 15-20%, regardless the unemployment rate does not record all the people who have not bothered filing for unemployment or have given up not to mention illegal aliens. So the true number of un-employed is way bigger. Your logic fails big time if you just basing that outlook on unemployment filings |

Well, since many people never applied for unemployment (I didn't) and some people did and have since run out..then numbers can not be accurate. I honestly think I have more friends and/or family unemployed than employed.
Also, of those friends and family some work two or three part-time jobs (one with a Ph.D is getting an average of seven to 20 hours a week..seriously).
My heart goes out to all the humans world-wide in this rough economic time. Remember, now is the time to start thinking about helping each other out..family, friends and community..now is the time to draw on your strengths and theirs and to work as one.
