Sara Palin is the ONLY reason McCain didn't lose by a large margin.
He could have won if he'd only turned her loose.
She would have confronted Obama with the agreement OCT22 to TAKE 401Ks from the people. McCain Knew he was not PICKED to win so he pulled up a few months before the election and reigned Palin in SO HE WOULDN'T WIN.

Reporting from Washington -- A day after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resigned, a federal official in her home state dismissed one potential explanation for her sudden and unexpected resignation: a rumored FBI investigation into the former Wasilla mayor on public corruption charges.
Despite rumors of a looming controversy after the Republican governor's surprise announcement Friday that she would leave office this month, some of them published in the blogosphere, the FBI's Alaska spokesman said the bureau had no investigation into Palin for her activities as governor, as mayor or in any other capacity.

I don't hate her. I just disagree with her political views. I was going to vote against McCain long before he picked Sarah Palin to be his VP. She was guilty by association from day one.
Never liked Bush, never liked McCain, wasn't impressed when Bush and McCain and Karl Rove starting telling me how great a president Sarah Palin would make. No thanks, not in my country, I'll never trust a Republican as long as I live. |

No, this was before McCain lost the election. For a month or two right after she was thrust into the national spotlight, all of the Republican shills were coming out of the woodwork to vouch for Sarah Palin. It had the opposite effect for me. If Karl Rove has a McCain-Palin bumper sticker on his car, I'm voting for the other guy.
She only became a scapegoat after the election. I think there is some truth to this, actually. McCain would have done much better with someone less polarizing on his ticket. Someone bland like Joe Biden. That was a safe pick. |

she's got a lucrative book deal going, will make a lot of money off that. She can command up to $60,000 per speech and without being chained to the Governor's desk can do a lot of speeches. Her PAC is clicking along. I think she will do OK in the money department
