Palin and her staff were spending most of their time fighting frivolous, bullshit lawsuits, all of which (to date) have been dismissed. The left wing nutcases bringing the suits made it impossible for her to govern the state.
In a situation like that, what the fuck would you do? Would you let the state's business fall by the wayside?
There's important work to be done, so rather than sit by and watch as that work sits idle, she did WHAT'S BEST FOR ALASKA & HER PEOPLE.

Is there something in the governor contract saying she can have another job at the same time?
She does have a book contract now, and I suspect that will bring in more money.
I thought the lame duck period starts after another beats the incumbent, and before they take office. That's what my polisci prof. taught anyway. |

First of all, she is not a FAILED governor. For example check her approval rating in Alaska - I believe its pretty high. Definately better than Obama and several times higher than Congress!
