I've always been on the left and I actually like her on some personal level and like some of her positions. I've got no problem with her being "normal" or having "morals" (if indeed that's the case.)
However, I don't think she has a legit chance at 2012. After reading the details of the 08 campaign coming from the McCain people, I don't think she has the personality to get through a two year campaign without melting down.
And even if she did, the Obama people would crucify her in the general election. |

I realize this may be off topic – but I feel that it needs to be said.
Many have condemned Sarah Palin for the actions of her teenage daughter who like many of us (have in their life) had unprotected sex, some which resulted in a pregnancy.
They use this situation in an attempt to demonize her and criticize her Christian beliefs.
First, for those of you condemning ‘Christians’ for this are completely missing the boat here 9as to what a Christian is). Being a Christian does not equal perfection nor does it mean that we are without sin. On the contrary, being a Christian means that we acknowledge that we are not perfect and have sinned.
Second, NO parent can or should be responsible for the actions of their children. Yes, they played a part in the upbringing – but there are many other influences that a child will experience and may succumb to. A parent is only a piece of the pie. |

It's something else -- pointing fingers at other politicians, then cry "foul" when pointed at her. I've just not heard of one instance or read one article where Palin has even considered she might be wrong, has had second thoughts or may have misstepped or misinterpreted something. Her defense always seems to be a "victim me-me mentality". |

I have seen a lot of rhetoric on this and other forums about her Christianity as it relates to (both of) her daughters. A LOT! (i.e. The David Letterman fiasco went on for weeks!)
As for the pointing fingers & other items you mentioned. I have been a Palin follower for a long time and I surely don’t see it this way. In fact I see just the opposite.
You condemn her for not acknowledging that she’s wrong – well maybe she (and millions of her followers) doesn’t think she is wrong. Why retract or apologize for something you don’t think is wrong. I don’t think I’m wrong about my comments herein, so I don’t think I will be apologizing!
She is being (in my opinion) unjustifiably attacked by a lot of people, who don’t like her – not because of her political positions but rather her convictions (Christian, pro life, anti-gay.)
It’s amazing how we can see the same person in entirely different ways. You are entitled to your opinion, but so am I. |

What people? Even reactionary right wingers don't like quitters. Lame Duck...not in a political sense as she so glibly misdefined, but definitely in her choices in her family life.
Fewer and fewer will be fond of her brand of parenting/grandparenting as the facts come out.
She quit being a mom when she threw her pregnant daughter under the bus (enter Levi) and loaded up all of the kids, including her own very special needs infant, onto the Glory to Sarah Trail. She lost.
Now she shows the world how to keep an infant from his father because she and the mother, her unwed daughter, suddenly don't like him. The father is going to write a book.
Then there is the attempted firing of her ex-brother-in-law.
Love those family values.
She is Obama's second term insurance and the Republicans know it and are terrified. |
