LOL...Dude, there is a class action lawsuit in TX over the smart meters. THOUSANDS took to town hall meetings, got local and state officials involved, media, etc. I know, I was one of those citizens. This is not an isolated case.

Funny how this letter ends.
It says that chelco intends to install that meter at each service location and then goes on by saying that they regret this error.
Well It still stinks this whole thing. It stinks because they don't check meters when they install them. Even after programming and making changes to the measuring equipment.
Also they where very unclear why the second smart meter that was tested also showed the same ct-meter mulitplier. Was it out of the box, or again programmed with the same program as the last one?
And "This programming is only required for meters to be used on a net metering installation" doesn't exclude other forms of programming, or ct multiplier programming.
And what happened to the Chelco employee that made this "error" was he promoted or...?
The data error in the smart meters was corrected, but was the original computer also corrected? Or do they still use it?
They didn't answer all of your questions in this report. Manufacturer's validation testing and the requirement for you to have a smart meter.
Also such a report requires an autograph.
Just some things i noticed. Now we need someone without net metering installation and see how that goes. |

because they didn't bill you yet for any electric they haven't ripped you off. if you had gathererd data till the bill arrived and the bill was double you could have made a good case as it is they can just blame faulty meter and install a working one and probably make you look nuts in the process. A guy who owns a local TV station who is known as a rebel in this area interviewed one of the CHELCO / PowerSouth head guys to do a story.
They were concerned about how the story would run so they met with him privately before it aired.
He pulled me aside and told me point blank that EVERYONE"S POWER BILL is going to double by the end of the summer, and possibly triple by the end of the year.
This was according to them and they wanted him to STFU.
NOW, the kicker is he told me this 2 months ago. He even briefly said it on the air. (Tapes of the recording and air date and time are available)
That is why I crapped my pants on Trinity's story and on a hunch asked him what his CO-OP was. I asked specifically if he was with CHELCO well before it was disclosed. Read the threads, page 14 or so.
The universe is exposing this. They know what they are doing IN ADVANCE. I can get you in touch with the TV station owner. This is FAR bigger than even GLP can imagine. |

COUPLE OF BASIC QUESTIONS
1. HOW CAN IT BE LEGAL TO INSTALL A FISCAL METER THAT CAN BE CHANGED AT WHIM BY THE BENEFICIARY?
SORT OF PINT GLASS WITH A FLEXIBLE BOTTOM OR SCALES THAT WEIGH 10 OUNCES AS A POUND WHEN REQUIRED.
2. HOW CAN IT BE BENEFICIAL TO A CONSUMER TO HAVE THEIR POWER CUT OFF REMOTELY BECAUSE SOME JERK DECIDES THEY ARE USING TOO MUCH.
3. HOW CAN A SMART METER ALLOW CONSUMERS TO REGULATE THEIR USAGE AS MOST ARE IN CUPBOARDS OR IN HOLES IN THE WALL OUTSIDE.
SEEMS THESE GUYS MAKE UP BENEFITS FOR CONSUMERS BUT DONT MENTION THEIR BENEFITS.

File/letter with your Utilities Commission, if that's what your state calls it. Worth a shot. (in our little subdivision we had a spike in our water bills. We looked at the water suppliers documentation to the state to justify his rate increase and with our handy dandy little calculators turned out he purchased enough water chemicals to last a gazillion years. We caught it-- the state didn't. First time in NC history the commission reversed a water rate increase so I was told by their legal dept. If little water utility suppliers are pulling this crap, you know the big power companies are doing it, too.) |

A guy who owns a local TV station who is known as a rebel in this area interviewed one of the CHELCO / PowerSouth head guys to do a story.
They were concerned about how the story would run so they met with him privately before it aired.
He pulled me aside and told me point blank that EVERYONE"S POWER BILL is going to double by the end of the summer, and possibly triple by the end of the year.
This was according to them and they wanted him to STFU.
NOW, the kicker is he told me this 2 months ago. He even briefly said it on the air. (Tapes of the recording and air date and time are available)
That is why I crapped my pants on Trinity's story and on a hunch asked him what his CO-OP was. I asked specifically if he was with CHELCO well before it was disclosed. Read the threads, page 14 or so.
The universe is exposing this. They know what they are doing IN ADVANCE. I can get you in touch with the TV station owner. This is FAR bigger than even GLP can imagine.
Wow I tell you all a local TV station owner documented what would happen to Trinity TWO MONTHS in advance after getting the goods from CHELCO/PowerSouth; that part of it is recorded with the air date and time and can be provided; they came and told him to STFU about it and he has this recorded; that PowerSouth / CHELCO ties in to both AL and FL State Speakers of the House who both "coincidentially" resigned suddenly, one is under indictment and GLP is silent? LOL...Dude, there is a class action lawsuit in TX over the smart meters. THOUSANDS took to town hall meetings, got local and state officials involved, media, etc. I know, I was one of those citizens. This is not an isolated case.

Ya know I was thinking about this current scaling and multiplier feature this thing seems to have. According to the docs from Landis these things have a settable range of 1-240. Doesn't make sense that say if setting number 2 doubled the reading that the next setting 3 would triple and on and on...not only would be no common sense reason to have a 240x display of what the actual draw was, it would severely limit what that scaling could be practically used for which is likely to tune the meter to 110-115-120-130, at least what common sense would tell me it would probably be used for. So was thinking the actual CT multiplier might have been set at 120...half way would be 2x....could make sense...but the base for that particular meter would have to be lowest voltage they would want to read. Tell ya why later this whole thing starts to stink.
I know a bit about electrical engineering...probably just enough to be dangerous...lol...but I know from my stuff being several voltages and sometimes requiring a transformer etc etc a bit about current and load.
When voltage goes down?..Current/Amps go up.
Just to take round numbers say a 440V device takes 50 Amps to run. If you change the taps for that same device to run on 220v?...it now draws 100 AMPS. If you could tap it down to 110V...it would need 200 AMPS. The reason a lot of big commercial services use 440v or 460v is because as you need more AMPs?...you need bigger wiring, wire is expensive. At 50 AMPS that device needs say 6 gage wire...at 100?...it might 1/0....that's a real big cost increase. It's also why you see small "High tension wires" running to your transformer.....they carry maybe 1760 volts...but at 25 AMPS....after they hit your transformer they get stepped down to 220v...but they now carry 200 amps so you see small wires high voltage going in, fat wires low voltage high current going out.
That's just a real basic tutorial of how Voltage and Current work and get transmitted. I'm sure Trin you knew that, but I want other people who might not see how that works so they can get their heads around it and I'll tell ya why and how that whole electrical science might end up being a big point leverage, can of worms this power co and really all power companies might not want opened up.
Ok so it appears that Meters register draw/current/Amps. Ever take a volt meter and check a few sockets in your own home?...Notice that they almost always reads lower than 120 volts?...well...now your meter is calibrated to read 120 volts...AMPS x VOLTS = KW...so say I was a power company....and I wanted to sell more of my product...electricity. All I need to do is pump out 110v to everyone I deal to and what happens?..all the draws automatically go up right around 10%, the meter reads that increased current and I automatically sell 10% more of my product to everyone without really selling any more at all, the meter just says I do, because it's calibrated to a higher voltage than I am actually receiving. No one ever knows, all devices function just fine and I just make more pure profit.
Meter at 120v actual current 120v draw 50 amps = 50x120=6000 = 6kw
Meter at 120v actual current 110v draw 55 amps = 55x120=6600 = 6.6kw
10% across million of customers?....it's huge...and who would know. Even 5% and varrying?...still huge. If people were made of aware of that simple concept?...I bet there would be a lot of angry people....they wouldn't like that would they....

My monthly kilowatt usage was 2750 last month
They put this new meter on my house tuesday and so far it says I've used 900 kilowatt hours!
It's been less than a week!
That means I'm gonna be DOUBLE the usage I was on the old meter
This is total bullshit

After reading the copies of the correspondence I would refuse the digital meter on the grounds that there is no substitute for the mechanical version. If the counter can be reprogrammed by update or flash then the entire system is insecure. No matter what they say REFUSE IT! If need be have them take you to court for obstruction! Then you can make it public and get a judgment. Even if the court finds for the power company it will all still be on the record. Then contest the decision and all the while keep the old dumb meter. The fact is that these meters are PROGRAMABLE so then are FLAWED. What is worse is that if you had not contacted them you would have been liable for your "DOUBLED" bill!

In essence you have it in your grasp to prove that the SMART system is DUMB and unreliable as proof of your electric consumption. The existing method is the one you contracted to use and you see no need to subject yourself to this inferior system that key features of are EDITABLE!

how in the world does it? my light switch is off and it dont draw. i figure you have to draw to get meter to go just dont understand that--but now i unplug even my coffee maker |
