You guys know that Ron Paul is close friends with the gay actor in this movie, right? This is all scripted and acted. I'm sure they went out for drinks after shooting this. You morans really believe the movie producers could get away with using hidden cameras for this, and then profit from it by selling it to the public? |

You do realise Ron Paul would have had to consent to this being shown in a commercial cinema film?
Otherwise they would have had to disguise his face, as happened earlier in the film during the Paula Abdul interview. |

That's what the media wavers for when you are being interviewed for tv, radio, etc. Ron Paul didn't do anything disrespectful. And I don't think there's anything wrong for pranking him into this movie. I think politicians should be caught off-guard more often.
But again those people who complain being tricked into doing the movie are simply stupid. They all signed media release waver. If they read the contract, then they would've known what they get themselves into.
I enjoyed the movie. I do agree parts of it are very disturbing, but it is funny. And the movie does bring out some good perspective on stupidity and bigotry in our society.
Just because it's crude, it doesn't make Sacha Cohen (Bruno) a bad person. I can list tons of other comedies that are as crude and disturbing yet most Americans find them funny: American Pie, Jackass, Scary Movie series, and many more. |

This movie was completely funny.
What is even funnier is the reaction of people like the OP who cannot see the film for themselves and just watch it.
Their Bros and Hos try and trash it meanwhile they watch shows like married with children, friends and other mindless trash that add zero to their intelligence. NOthing.
OP, for once stand up on your own two feet, don't let your friends manipulate you and evaluate the film for yourself.

Production companies definitely have to get a signed release from every actor if they are going to be in the film. I've seen pretty large checks delayed only because ALL release forms have not been turned in to the prod. co.
BUT, the release forms are pretty generic in the wording and if RP's in the film, I'd say he signed a release for the interview. Still fraudulent, I'd say, for not divulging the nature of the interview, but RP probably signed a release. |
