It was a full moon on 7/7/09 - Michael Jackson's funeral.
And you can't spell funeral without fun.

Really? Like I said, you are amusing, Floyd.

So, you haven't bothered to go to any of the many sites that will tell you when, where and at what phase the Moon will rise for your location? Do you have ANY IDEA how many people use/rely on the Moon (oh let's just try fishermen for a start) and would notice instantly if it was in the wrong place or phase????

Why don't you make the first move to a new age of enlightenment, and visit here:

[link to www.stellarium.org]

Download the version for your OS.

Before running it, check your system date, time and timezone and make sure they are correct.

Then run it, and click on your location on the handy little world map. You will see an *accurate* real time sky view. Down the bottom are controls for the time. Use your mouse (drag) to turn your view to the South/East horizon, roll your mouse wheel to zoom in and out until you get the angle you want to (sort of) match your eye. Click the 'fast-forward' button a few times until things start to move along (there's a real time button there as well to bring you back to normality).

Anyway, you will see the Moon rising and setting when it really does..., so you should be able to find it.

Hint, try looking a little South-ish (as Stellarium will tell you), but bear in mind that the Moon moves 'backwards' in the sky by about an hour each night, as well as changing phase.

Isn't technology amazing!!!

There's a LOT more to Stellarium, see if you can work it out for yourself...

Good luck. Tell us when it all starts to make sense. By the way, the Moon is bright and well up here at 8pm - I'm in Oz, but the view isn't hugely different, just the angle...

The partial penumbral eclipse of the moon happened exactly as calculated last night and the total eclipse of the moon in front of the sun will happen perfectly on July 22nd for those in the far east. Now...for those of you who think it's out of place, explain how the moon can be out of place if these events, along with the hundreds of distant star occultations per month by it are happening exactly as they should.

A brave person who dares to tell the truth!

You are wasting your time on here using science and logic as arguments. Tell people the truth and they will threaten to "slap the living f*** out of you" in the name of Jesus!

Tell them that the New World Order in collusion with the Anunaki are going to frazzle their (peanut sized) brains using psychotronic weapons and they believe you and STFU.

If only ATS page updates weren't so damned slow, I would not even have bothered coming on here.

About the only redeeming feature here is the unintentional humour aspect of some of the posts.

In Arizona it was a full or nearly full moon last night. And it was definitely in the south part of the sky. Southeastern from my house. And I've NEVER seen the moon in that part of the sky before in my life!

What the heck is going on? How can a body that size move around in it's orbit? Or is it we, the earth, who are shifting places and do not realize it?

In the Netherlands, I'm only seeing the Moon and jupiter(verified it) for about the last 2 weeks, the stars seem to disappear because there's too much 'light' too see them.

When I was young, I couldn't see any planet THAT easily..
Lately through the year, I could see Venus, Mars etc, but almost no stars...

In my opinion, the moon and even the planets shine so much brighter then some years ago, so the stars are still there but it's getting harder and harder to see them.

Maybe. It just seems we cannot see them like we could years ago. I find it a bit strange.

If that were the case then the proper exposure settings for the moon and planets would be changing; that's not happening at all. What is happening is that light pollution is getting worse in most places, making the stars harder to see, leaving the moon and planets as just about the only objects left visible.

Re: << MOON Rising in the Wrong Place - Master Thread >>
The moon is rising and setting out of place. However, it is not doing so on a consecutive, re-occurring basis; which can be timed to within an accurate system of measurement. Therefore, it is impossible to appease the "logical minded"; although, it is in fact, doing such. I have lived in the same house since 1994, and have marked the position of the moon; relative to its place of precession, as it occurs during the year. Believe what you will, I have nothing to gain, and I will never try to force down your throat, the teachings of a convoluted religious system(s). Yet with seeing with my own eyes, (as well as everyone whom I have demonstrated so); I have come to the conclusion that it can be only one of two things.

(1). That the moon itself is somehow wandering in its position, relative to the earth.

OR

(2). The earth itself is "wobbling", which gives the illusion, that it is the moon which is moving.

Believe what you will, it is very strange time that we live in.
