He should sell his gold and help those in need....
It seems to me the Catholic Church has plenty of wealth and political power right now!
How is it using that wealth and power! Trying to "educate" Africans not to use condoms in the middle of an HIV epidemic, for one.
Then you don't know Catholicism like you've been taught. Look at all the hospitals and orphanages and medical missions worldwide the Church runs. Or the schools that still teach the Traditional teachings of the Faith.
If you only go by what the "mainstream" media tell you, you're only getting their propaganda on the Faith. Not the real thing.

The "Traditional teachings of the Faith" I was taught was a lot of exhausted Roman Empire memes, materialistic metaphors and egotistical triumphalism pasted on top of a total misinterpretation of what Jesus actually taught. The humility and poverty of the early Christians is totally unrecognizable under the magical thinking and rituals of paganism grafted on top of Christianity by the Romans. The Catholic church has always been and still is distracted with political power.
