Does she follow the law or is she an activist judge? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 657905No, she should not be Supreme Court Justice...but wait, TOTUS Obama believes in courts favoring minorities and justice should not be blind....so according to TOTUS Obama, she is perfect. Sotomayor, like Obama, believes in ruling in favor of minorities despite what the law states. She is racist and an activist judge. Lord help us, Ginsberg is also going to be retiring soon or dying. How many more activists/liberals in the upper echelons of gov't can we bear? Soon there will not even be one branch of gov't that will offset the other. |

She does not deserve such a high position , maybe the position of janitor is better for her. Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. Thomas Jefferson |

Seems a huge conflict of interest in that a Justice on the court is supposed to uphold the Constitution not advocate for those who spit on it. |

Princess Bride User ID: 724611 United States 07/13/2009 11:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Let's not imply that people with dark skin, or happen to be women, cannot do well on a merit based test. As for Affirmative Action, that is what it implies and it is insulting to our best & brightest with dark skin or women. Now if they don't happen to be the best or brightest, then they need to get in gear and study, practice, etc. until they are. As a woman, I hate to say, but reality sometimes kicks into the equation to. Reality is, that we are designed different than men. There may be some things that only a few women can be exceptional at. There may even be somethings that no women can be exceptional at. However, there are lots of things that women tend to be more exceptional at than men to. We need all kinds and it's best to allocate people where they would do the best and in areas that favor them. Sincerely & honestly, there is no reason the black men could not have done better than the white men on a firemen's test. It just screams to me that they didn't really try. There is no reason black men should not at the top of that particular field and I think they are cheating society by not having conquered it already. Heart of the heroes, ride. There really is no way to interpret law (the Supremes job) without legislating from the bench. Even if you go straight prima facia, you are still legislating from the bench. All you demonstrate is that you're an idiot if you harp about activist judges. I still don't like her. Heart of the heroes, ride. cyborg6 User ID: 725485 United States 07/14/2009 12:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It seems that these days to only qualifying factor in these proceedings is whether or not the nominee agrees with the president on abortion or not. I think this is the wrong way to approach candidates for the highest court in our country. The judge in question should only be a referee and not a maker of laws. While she may have spoken otherwise in the past her decisions from the bench should be all that matter. Her decision against the fire fighters from CT was , in my opnion, wrong...but i am curious to see some other major decisions she has made. In addition, the beauty of our legal system was able to correct that judegment. But I think it's interesting that the same people who are calling her racist on this forum don't defend against the racist comments being MADE on this forum...but whatever. im not familiar with the group "La Raza"... is it a socialist organization? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 627137Im pretty sure her low scores were referring to her SAT and LSAT scores...which aren't what get you into ivy league schools. As for her overall grades, she graduated summa cum-laude from Princeton? |
