My location is about bang in the middle of the 'ideal' 50-60 deg so they aren't that unusual. That was a particularly bright display though. UK reported seeing them last night as well but I was rained out. |

[link to spaceweather.com] When noctilucent clouds first appeared in the late 19th century, they were confined to latitudes above 55o N (usually far above). The latitude of Paris is only 48°48' N. This continues a recent trend of increasingly southern apparitions. Since the late 1990s, noctilucent clouds have been spotted in Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Turkey, and possibly Virginia. I agree that the many events seem connected, or at least a matter of coincidental timing. It's hard to know if it's cause and effect, or if the UFO's are vacationers observing.
