Jeremy User ID: 717112 United States 07/15/2009 04:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 1 in 2000 babies are born "intersexed", and many have surgery at their parents insistence to make them either "male" or "female", but usually "female" since that surgery is easier. I couldn't believe it the first time I heard about this, 1 in 2000 is a lot of people. I don't know/think that every instance requires surgery or has the surgery I'm not sure, but there were people in the documentary who felt as though they truly were what they were born as: neither male nor female, or maybe some mix of both. And they were upset that their parents had "mutilated" them as you say simply to conform to society. This was a while back and i haven't read up on it lately but at the time i found a website and the people there were also discussing what they said in the movie, how it's wrong to perform surgery on infants to change them from the way they were born when there is no medical reason for it. So maybe this will make you feel better?, it could have been worse ;) |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 725945As a young boy on my mother insistence I was Circumcised. Just above the penis i have found a small surgical scar with stitches about 20mm in length, what could this be ?. By the way if what you have looks like a scar it probably is one. There is nothing you can do about it now! Last Edited by Cranky on 07/15/2009 05:15 AM |

What people do not realize or at least this used to be true. The baby boy is strapped down on a board and the circumcision is done without any anesthetic. Sounds fun. I listened to a baby boy being circumcised near the maternity ward, and his screams were heart breaking. I will never forget it. |
