Circumcision Question
I think this practice is wrong, unless there is a medical condition requiring such mutilation such as balanitis.
As a young boy on my mother insistence I was Circumcised.
Just above the penis i have found a small surgical scar with stitches about 20mm in length, what could this be ?.

Re: Circumcision Question
You're upset about missing a tiny piece of foreskin...imagine how intersexed people feel...

1 in 2000 babies are born "intersexed", and many have surgery at their parents insistence to make them either "male" or "female", but usually "female" since that surgery is easier.

I couldn't believe it the first time I heard about this, 1 in 2000 is a lot of people. I don't know/think that every instance requires surgery or has the surgery I'm not sure, but there were people in the documentary who felt as though they truly were what they were born as: neither male nor female, or maybe some mix of both. And they were upset that their parents had "mutilated" them as you say simply to conform to society.

This was a while back and i haven't read up on it lately but at the time i found a website and the people there were also discussing what they said in the movie, how it's wrong to perform surgery on infants to change them from the way they were born when there is no medical reason for it.

So maybe this will make you feel better?, it could have been worse ;)

Do they even put stitches in after mutilating the boy?

stitches aren't required, it's just excess skin.
It's not necessary and some say it's more hygienic to remove it.

By the way if what you have looks like a scar it probably is one. There is nothing you can do about it now!

Jeremy Im not worried about the circumcision K !
its this tiny scar that runs horizontal by about 20mm just above the penis that is my concern, what kind of medical procedure is carried out to constitute such a scar ?

Re: Circumcision Question
Go ask your mother. She'll know how you got the scar.
Czar: 1) An unelected person given substantial authority over a particular policy; 2) sometimes used to refer to monarchs of imperial Russia.

That sadly is no longer a viable option
Thanks though for the advice.

Go back to school and learn how to spell correctly
Then when you have done this, pay more attention to reading the facts before making such ignorant responses OK !

Re: Circumcision Question
It should be up to the parents and NO ONE ELSE!

What people do not realize or at least this used to be true. The baby boy is strapped down on a board and the circumcision is done without any anesthetic. Sounds fun.

I listened to a baby boy being circumcised near the maternity ward, and his screams were heart breaking. I will never forget it.
