A Mid-Winter Afternoon´s Dream
I just had the strangest dream after taking an afternoon nap.

Iīm bringing it up here because I woke up with the strangest name/word on my mind.

In the dream I was a little girl and it was as though I had been awakened from a dream . . . for a moment - it was as though I could see the entire globe spinning and I "felt" as though I had been shown that I was from some rocky little island in the southern hemisphere.

In the dream - - - I woke up to find that one group of people were being taken over by another group of people . . . very stealthily - not even against their "will" per se due to the fact that it was so subtle.

It was as though I was seeing a fast forward of what was happening. I realized that although I was the one who had just awakened from the dream it was more important for me to try to tell everyone else to wake up from the dream. Actually, it was at this point that I was shown the small rocky island (from a distance - almost like a satellite view) and I realized that I would have to go back to living there alone if things continued to go in the same direction they appeared to be headed.

I woke up with one word on my mind -

The word "Cyr."

I have no idea why that word was on my mind when I woke up (meaning - really woke up).

Weird.

Iīm going to Google that word.

Sorry to litter up the board with a dream post.

If anyone has any input please feel free to comment.

edited to say: I just read this to my husband and he said that there was a Lilli St. Cyr (?) who was a famous stripper - LOL . . . . laughing now - maybe the globes I saw werenīt really global!

Thanks!

Thank you, Triple Six, for the link. I just took a look.

Additionally, cyrillic is a type of language . . . but again - none of it makes any sense.

I keep waking up from dreams with a word in my mind that will stick throughout the day.

The day before it was "coptic."

Who knows . . . maybe iīm just going through the alphabet and have already forgotten all the "A" and "B" words.

Thanks again!!!

Thanks Arizona -

Who knows why or how these words are being dragged back to consciousness from a sleeping state.

Reminds me of the Super Mario Bros. game when they keep diving below the different levels.

Usually I wake up w/ images from a dream - not images and a particular word (feels like a "word of the day" calendar dream!)

Thanks again!

Re: A Mid-Winter Afternoon´s Dream
Looking out at the road rushing under my wheels
Looking back at the years gone by like so many summer fields
In sixty-five I was seventeen and running up one-o-one
I donīt know where Iīm running now, Iīm just running on

Running on - running on empty
Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
But Iīm running behind

Gotta do what you can just to keep your love alive
Trying not to confuse it with what you do to survive
In sixty-nine I was twenty-one and I called the road my own
I donīt know when that road turned onto the road Iīm on

Running on - running on empty
Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
But Iīm running behind

Everyone I know, everywhere I go
People need some reason to believe
I donīt know about anyone but me
If it takes all night, thatīll be all right
If I can get you to smile before I leave

Looking out at the road rushing under my wheels
I donīt know how to tell you all just how crazy this life feels
I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through
Looking into their eyes I see them running too

Running on - running on empty
Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
But Iīm running behind

Honey you really tempt me
You know the way you look so kind
Iīd love to stick around but Iīm running behind
You know I donīt even know what Iīm hoping to find
Running into the sun but Iīm running behind

your īIDentityī as opposed to your īthoughtsī

youīre obviously concerned about this ridiculous system an thatīs represented by th ītake overī part of your dream...

īCyrī seemed important because it is...language is words...used to express...your thoughts :)

Re: A Mid-Winter Afternoon´s Dream
"Can you remember whether this rocky island was in the Atlantic, or Pacific (or other ocean)?

Maybe part of Atlantis or Lemuria?"

It was just a quick flash.

In fact, I had probably been asleep for about two hours and all this happened (it would seem) right before I woke up.

Reminded me of a slide show - very strange dream.

The place I was looking at on this strange looking globe looked to be near the South Pole.

Remember . . . it was just a dream - but what struck me was waking up with a certain word on the tip of my tongue (brain).

Iīve had some strange dreams in my life . . .

One that I havenīt told here was several years ago. It involved being in a garden and I could see water below. I remember everything being framed in flowers.

Someone came up from behind and stabbed me in the area of the right shoulder blade.

Now, I may have had this dream because Iīve had pain in my right shoulder blade on and off as an adult . . .

Dreams are fascinating. Makes you wonder why the synapses fire the way they do when youīre supposed to be getting some "rest."

Re: A Mid-Winter Afternoon´s Dream
What does the Cyr name mean?
Last Name: Cyr
French: from the Latin personal name Quiricus or Cyricus, Greek Kyrikos or Kyriakos, ultimately from Greek kyrios ‘lord’, ‘master’. This name was borne by a 4th-century martyr, a small child martyred with his mother St. Julitta in 304 ad (see Quilici). In North America it is sometimes Americanized as Sears.

leia,

CYR = Cover Your Rear

Was your dress caught in the waistband of your pantyhose in the dream?

Facetious comments aside, could Cyr have been an abbreviation of a phrase?
