Kenny D Rogers 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am a (poor) student who is getting ready to make the huge step from college to the working world. At the end of May I am getting a associates degree in Multimedia. I am also considering helping this friend of mine out as well. We met each other around the end of November (found her on the Internet). I can say that I never met a girl who so captivated my attention and creativity as much as she has. Sadly, her life took a drastic turn when her parents told her that she couldn´t go to school anymore because they couldn´t afford the loans. (Same thing happened to another friend of mine). She then said that she would need some time to get her "new" life straight with her "new" head......I could easly relate having a rug pulled from under me many a times (most noticeablly when diabetes struck me at age 4). Fate has now seem to started calling us back again......and I would love to have a gift that would help her, and me, and hopefully the society that I would eventually be becoming a active member in. (I guess you could think of it as making a REAL understandable diffrence in the lives of many.) Ohh, and I havn´t gotten one dime from and Diabetic organization. The only real advances come from companys that discover new products that they can sell......I don´t know how the hell those certain "charitys" help. Or give it to the Childrens Hospital. Saved my life a couple of times ^K( |

Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am going for this one. (if you are not for real I am going to feel really stupid) Actually it is not for me but rather for an orphan I took into my home 3 1/2 years ago. SERIOUS! He is now 18, very intellegent, and lost his parents as a very young boy. He has lost (by death) every living family member and was being raised by a wicked step-aunt (by marriage) who took everything he owned away from him, and did not nourish him properly because she held a grudge that she had to take him in at all. (there are some abuse details that I cannot speak of in this open forum) Well, to make a long story short, he fell madly in love with my daughter, and treated her like a queen making her last 3 years truly wonderful. They were together for 3 years as a couple. She passed away last year!! (she was truly an angel) I just want this young man to go to college and I cannot afford it. He needs a break in life, a new start, and some good counceling. So it is not for me but for someone who truly needs it. Ok, I did it, and I feel very stupid but it never hurts to try. If nothing else, maybe some that read this will find it in their hearts to take in someone without a home. |

Quetzalcoatl 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Congrats on winning the money. Ok, I will give it a whirl. I want to open a community oriented coffee shop that is a musical venue for all ages. It will take more than 5grand, but that would be a good start! Thanks QUETZ PS. You should invest it in nanotechnology and then give the dividends you will get the rest of your life to Habitat for Humanity |

Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It truly is so sad that money runs our lives. It dictates live or die in some cases. It affects what our children turn out to be. It makes us admirable or undesirable in this country. It determines our futures. I wish goodness on earth was the currency and true equality was the person. Guess we have to wait for the afterlife for that. |

Treasure Hunter 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Do the buried treasure thing. Convert the money to $5, $10, and $20. Use a watertight container (a military ammunition can is perfect- can be bought at a surplus store for about $5.00). Bury it in the back country (travel if you have to) and leave clues - on GLP or one of the other forums. You make it as hard as you want (after all its your money). Release a clue each week. Instead of giving this money to someone - make them earn it. Just a thought!! |

Lost my dad and brother in a train wrech 15 yrs ago. Lost my mother 4 years after that to cancer. 2 months after that my sister committed suicide. I was in college, left to help my family out, as they all passed I found myself with nothing tryin to help my family and now that they are gone I have been going job to job trying tomake ends meet. I use a friends computer to come on here once in a blue moon and check my email at the library. I was married started to make things work after I lost most of my family , had a son then she left me for another man, I thought being nice and thogutful for my son living with her so Igave her what i had. she decided to even goa step further and take even the little I had. ramon noodles are my breakfast and dinner. At the same time I have medical bills from my family being hospitalized especially my mother. I owe alot of money and any little bit would help. I try every day to wake up thinking today is the day and Ill still wait for that day no matter what I am not a quitter. So hopefully this post will find you and your family well. god bless and if I might be the lucky recipent you can get ahold of me at [email protected] Thank you |
