The Cambridge Police Union and Department have stated their Full and Unequivocal Support of Officer Crowley's actions and arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and stated Unequivocally that race was not a factor in the incident.

They have stated that Officer Crowley's actions were "consistent with local and national standards."

God Bless the Cambridge Police Department for supporting Officer Crowley and not bowing to political pressure.

Mr. Gates and Mr. Obama should issue a Full Apology to the Cambridge Police Department and the citizens of Massachusetts and the nation as a whole.

Their reckless statements have set back race relations and have smeared the reputation of a fine police officer and an outstanding police department.
