I am getting a basset Hound this weekend!!!

About 3 months ago I had to let one of my Basset's go. Her name was Sweet Pea and she had ruptured a disc in her back to the point where even surgery wasn't gonna help more likely than not. We let her go and came home to cry.

I am going to be a foster mom for Bassset Rescue of Ohio. They are bringing me Clancy this weekend. I am so happy. My other Basset, Molly, hasn't been happy since the little one left us. She hardly ever wags her tail anymore. She needs a buddy and I am helping a poor soul. I definitely don't have the money to buy another one right now.

If you are thinking of getting an animal and aren't sure if you are a dog person, or want to see how it goes first, you should consider a rescue group. They are in most states and if it doesn't work out you can give the dog back although that isn't the goal. Most rescue groups are breed specific. It's a great way to help an animal and at the same time get the exact type of dog you want. They pay for all of his vet bills while I have him and they also give me his heart worm meds and flea prevention. All I provide is a home, love and food. I am so happy.
