Sorry, but not president is going to abolish the Fed. It just is not going to happen any time soon. So yes, I concentrate more on the social issues, science, the environment, etc than on the economy which has been fucked up beyond repair for some time.

I won't even pretend that I know what is good for the economy. I like Obama in all other respects, so I'm going to trust that what he's doing is good, until I find reason to think otherwise.
Perhaps if you knew a bit more about what Obama's economic policies, you might not be such a supporter of the blind alley he is leading you down.
Care to give a brief overview?
Read every pinned topic from to back and then get back to us. You can lead horse to water but cannot make him drink.
I've tried. No one has done a good job of explaining this shit. And yes, I've seen the videos and shit about the economy like the Zeitgeist films and the Money Makers.

I'll exlain it:
We need money.
We take out loans from foreign countries.
No one is buying out debts anymore.
The Fed purchases bonds (or loans) by increasing money supply.
Inflation.
Rinse, lather, repeat.

You won't have to wait for long. YOUR life will change. And what a change!
You people have been saying this for years and NOTHING like that has happened.
Do you know the story of the frog and boilling water? That's your recent past. But now things are accelerating, and Obama is the Chief-Accelerator!

How do I want us dead and mind controlled? Please explain.
Maybe you personally don't want us dead, but you're willing to give up what freedoms we have left and to make nice with our enemies, thus giving them the upper hand. It's too late for you. You're already a puppet. Enjoy your ignorant bliss while you can.

I have been an Obama supporter since he announced his candidacy for president back in 2007. I voted for him both in the Democratic primary and the general.
I for one am extremely pleased with what he has accomplished and I could not have asked for a better president.
There is no buyers' remorse here. Not one ounce.
No remorse here either. President Obama is finally coming out and headbutting people and stepping on some toes here and there. It's great!
To be honest, I'm glad he's being criticized more too.People have been brewing so long for the time when they could criticize him, they go it. Now, it can only get old after a while, when the novelty wears off. Like a kid who buys a toy in the store, he has to wait until he gets home to open it, plays with it, then, eventually moves on to something else. By criticizing him, people begin to finally stomach he can't solve every problem; therefore, there will soon be less disappointment if he can't deliver on every promise.
McCain would have been a terrible choice. The fact Palin would have occupied the same house as Lincoln and FDR is a nightmare.
ANd I got to hand it to the guy...He is delivering so far on his promises, no matter how unpopular. He promised health care reform...he's doing it!

Economy was fucked by Clinton. Bush skullfucked it. Obama is slowly cutting the skin off of the body, and calling it "emergency surgery".
Healthcare could be covered next year, not this year when we are expanding our debt to unknown levels, plus other countries contemplate a replacement to the dollar as a reserve currency.
The fact you do nothing in face of Obama not doing anything with the Fed is disgusting. You simply brush it aside?!?
THE SEX PERVERT SPITZER EVEN ADMITTED IT!

There is so much corruption in this country and the masses are so ignorant we needed a fascist like obama to ruin everything. We would have continued to putt along with band aids attempting to cover our gaping deficiencies.
People need to read our history and understand how much was sacrificed by the founding fathers. Only to have us piss it all away.

That money should be held back to bail out the 47 States who are running out of Unemployment Insurance since the bottom has not hit yet. Even bailing out the States is not a Federal responsibility, but many States are using those funds for this purpose.
2. The Federal Reserve
Obama has increased the power of the Fed to oversee 'failing companies' of Financial importance, much like the FDIC shuts down banks. The problem with this is that the Fed is not accountable to Congress.
3. GM & Chyrsler Bailout
Obama subordinated secured creditors in deference to unsecured creditors, i.e., Bond holders displaced by Common Stock holders. This throws out contract law as we knew it, and Obama used his power of the Presidency to coerce the deal's completion.
4. Health Care
Such a dramatic change in how US handles this issue shows either how desperate Obama is for 'change,' or how naive he is to think that this mess can be straightened out in 2 months of haggling when the problem is 40 years old.
President's are figureheads of the Big Bucks that put them in power. I did somewhat prefer Baracko over McCain, but for all Obama's talk of 'transparency,' let's put the Birth Certificate issue to rest. Let's see it!

I'm glad he won, too. Of course, I'd rather have Ron Paul. BUT, when it became apparent Paul wouldn't be allowed near the WH I was rooting for Obama. I knew the right wing in this country needed a serious wake up call and that they'd just stay asleep under McCain while more Patriot Acts were passed, more restrictive legislation, more rights being thrown away, more wars, etc., etc.
Obama has made me very happy in that the right is FINALLY paying attention to what has happened and has been happening in this country. Problem now is most (not all, some are coming out of their Obama worship reveries) of the left have gone to sleep...
Ugh. I'd rather have a wide awake right, though. They are more likely to actually take a stand and defend this country instead of signing pointless petitions and sending in Code Pink.

Yeah I definitely identify more with the left, but their incessant political correctness can irritate me at times. Also, their naivety can be a bit much.
I liked aspects of Ron Paul too, but I wanted a true liberal in office when it came down to it. The Dems are in the pocket of the elite just as much as the right, but at least they are pushing an agenda that I agree with for the most part.
