Quoting: Casual Observer 735270what about the LRO its there now still we get useless pics. |

I haven't seen any of the new LRO pics, but one reason Mercury pics might appear so crisp is because it's close proximity to the Sun. No lighting issues where as the Moon is considerably further from the Sun. Good question though. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 589518 Australia 07/27/2009 07:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why do loads of plants look battered in large craters, and the earth hardly has any? Is it to do with our atmosphere burning them up before they hit? Quoting: ^ºFEEDº^Partly. But mostly because we have erosion on this planet. Mars and Mercury and the moon are mostly dead worlds, without plate movement and the forces of seas and rivers to reshape things. When you get below the cloud cover of Venus, it's very smooth, almost no recent craters, because of the thick atmosphere and it has active volcanos. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 716627Funny, that - i could've sworn that LRO took pictures of the Apollo landing sites last week, in low resolution, and will be taking very high-res ones in the next few weeks. Of course, the hoax-believers will simply claim that they are 'shopped. |
