cdwarior 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I recall something like the ´Monkey Slasher´ that was killing people all over India. It would fly in after dark and hack people to shreds. The government issued a statement indicating these acts were perpetrated by either a robot or an extra terrestrial. |
QuantumHost 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My note was to Idol. Through past exchanges Idol claims that if something is not prior SCIENTIFIC fact, it does not exist. Our conversation with Idol is... do not all new paths of discovery first start with non-current realities? Is not that the nature of, A DISCOVERY? |

QuantumHost 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Idol "Have you ever wondered how much energy does it take to blow up a planet?" Truthfully for us, that computation is right next to the folder that studies the amount of energy required to eat a raw carrot. Our point with you is that in the realm of future, whether one can comprehend a new reality or not... should not be the sole predictor of likelihood. |
Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As far as radioactive material, this might help... [link to people.howstuffworks.com] [link to www.bergen.org] From the second link wrote: Of natural uranium, only 0.7% is uranium 235. This meant that a large amount of uranium was needed to obtain the necessary quantities of uranium 235. Also, uranium 235 cannot be separated chemically from uranium 238, since isotopes are chemically similar. Even if you have tons and tons of naturally occuring Uranium at the core, the fact is there´s so much of it that´s unsuitable to fission that the stuff that is would never accumulate in any quanitity to cause a supercritical reaction (DA BOOM!). Even if it did, the quanitity would be insignificant compared to the total mass of the core, that the idea that a core reaction could disrupt the surface approaches the ludicrous. Unless you´ve got a centrifuge and a freon bath in the core (provided the core even has nuclear material to begin with), you´re not looking at a nuclear explosion taking out the planet EVER. |
QuantumHost 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Idol "no proof for something" Proof is limited to ones frame of reference. Little frame (1 day) or (a millennia) may with significance change what can be seen, or comprehended. Most all perspective or proof as you call it, is based on premise... but if the premise can be proved less likely, all follow up conclusions may be flawed as well. Over earth history, it is more true than not... there are only space/time bound perspectives. |

DrPostman 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Please note how the article mentions NO scientists, NO studies, NO institutions, NOTHING that supports these claims. Except for Bat Boy, he´s says the story is true because he read it in the Weekly World News of Asia, otherwise known as India Daily. and always will be |
QuantumHost 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is great innovative power often found in counter intuitive thinking... Construct the opposite from what appears as typical, then support your invention with plausible interpretations... Apple Computer company does this quite well... just ask stockholders. Goliath vs Steve. |
Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is no right or wrong just an unknown, so if someone (Idol) debunks something like this they/he/she/it should define why and not just state there is not enough energy to allow the earth to explode. |
QuantumHost 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | AC 452 "100 years ago there where many things not possible" The only change in possibility would be linked to sentient consciousness. Yes? We very much like your suggestion... it is just that sort of granularity breakdown that allows anything to be more or less likely. Well done. |

idol harobed 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "Truthfully for us, that computation is right next to the folder that studies the amount of energy required to eat a raw carrot." Consider the following: 1) A 9th magnitude earthquake relases 1.28x10^27 ergs. 2) The gravitational binding energy of Earth is about 10^39 ergs. Conclusion: The most destructive earthquake releases one trillionth of the total energy required to blow Earth up. Edit to add: This is not perspective dependant. |

QuantumHost 12/08/2005 10:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | idol Before the measurement of erg´s was invented what were they called? Your math only relates to a single force... not accounting for interaction by many to produce a single result. How did you get from breeder reactions to earthquakes? On this side of the veil, all is likely simple perspective. Why? This allows for unlimited sentient variation, purpose, and meaning. Immutability, we leave in the hands of the Creator. Or. Supposition Science forwarded by one called Idol. |
