Hebrew scripture prophecies are largely irrelevant for future events, and are superceded by the 3 major prophecies of Christ, one of which has already been fulfilled leaving but 2 unfulfilled. Neither of those speak of any Arab-Israeli wars.

The Mosaic Law and Hebrew prophecies pointing to Messiah was fulfilled in Jesus.

As a prophet of God he uttered 3 future prophecies; in the 2 future prophecies beyond the destruction of Jerusalem (the 3rd prophecy), he effectively declared everthing previous irrelevant.

I believe that the single horned goat who shatters the two horned ram is the U.S. We come from the other end of the world and defeat Media/Persia, who are Iran/Iraq. Iran has yet to be defeated by the U.S., however after defeating Iran we implement the Road Map to Middle East Peace (the false covenant) and then turn power over to the Quartet (U.S., U.N., E.U., Russia), who are the four horns. The small horn which rises from one of the four is Palestine and three horns fall out.

USER 1130, I dont think you read Mt 5:17-18 carefully enough? Heaven and earth have not passed away yet, so all is not fulfilled yet, even by Messiah dying as the pesach lamb. He fulfiled only a few things in his coming, but not "the day of vengeance" among many other things.

Heaven and Earth will never pass away. That was the point. The Law and Prophets WERE fulfilled in Messiah, then called Jesus.

Jesus, in turn, as a prophet of God uttered 3 new major prophecies, and simultaneously warned his disciples not to be decieved by non-signs, apocalyptic claims of Wars, Earthquakes, Pestilences etc, the very non-sign things which you are alleging will happen.

In short, if you are looking for wars, reports of wars, earthquakes, pestilences, food shortages etc, you are looking at the very things Christ said NOT to look for!

An Arab-Israeli war that may or may not eventuate is a non-sign.

There are texts which clearly state that the Earth will not pass away. Ecclesiastes 1:4 for instance, states, "...the Earth abideth forever".

If what Jesus was saying is literal, why would he contradict God´s word?

It is at least obvious Jesus is using figurative speech at Mat 24:35 to illustrate the factualness of what he just previously inferrred, namely, Heaven and Earth will be around for a while. Compare the context of Mat 24:29-39.

There is no contradiction. The earth abides forever by comparision to man who lives only a generation as Ecc 1.4 says. But this one will pass away and be renewed sometime after the Millennium.

But the point is, that there is much to be fulfilled before that happens that Jesus never did. To ignore that is to miss God´s plan.

God´s plan for the future was spelled out by Jesus in Mathew 24:29,30. You failed to see that. In that plan heaven and earth are very much in existence.

According to scripture the heavens and the earth remain forever; they will only pass away in the minds of religionists.
