People make it seem so much simpler than it is:

1) Believe it or not, some companies in which sales or personal interaction outside of the office environment are involved will not hire someone with a junker because it looks "unprofessional", I have been there.

2) Sometimes people are between jobs. My girlfriend for instance left one job to take a better job but the job didn't start until 2 weeks later. When you consider the fact that it will usually be three weeks between starting a job and a paycheck, that is almost 5 weeks between paychecks. She is behind on one payment, soon to be two and the bank already put a repo order out and refuse to work with her... and you guys act like banks are so innocent.

3) Speaking of banks, if you remember correctly or maybe you people who are passing judgement simply are not smart enough to know any better, banks are predators. They prey on people who simply want a better life than the one they have. I know people who have really good jobs with really good pay but were tricked into taking on sub prime loans that went bad and they ended up having their payments balloon to impossible levels. Why? Simply so someone else could make a little more money. But that is ok according to some of you.

Yes, I too refuse to get trapped into the car/sub prime mortgage trap but that is because I have done the research. Someday when I do decide to get a home, it will be prime or nothing. But you cannot judge other people because you simply do not know the situation they're in. It is not all just lazy people trying to get something for free. Some people just simply got a bad break and just hope the loan companies who "care so much for their customers" will actually work with them. Capitalism sure is a cold bitch though!
