Summary:
As far as UFO myth and legend stories go, one of the most intriguing ones comes to us from the daughter of a minister. Reverend Turner Hamilton Holt's daughter (Lucile Andrew) sent a letter to the UFO Reporter in 2002 stating that:

"Today I want to share some knowledge that has been, by request, kept secret in our family since sometime in World War II. This concerns something my father was shown by his cousin Cordell Hull, the Secretary of State under Franklin Roosevelt."

Four Unknown Creatures:

Holt's daughter also states that when her father was visiting Washington D.C. he was in the company of Hull. Hull then shocked the minister when he asked him to accompany him to a secret room. This room was under the basement of the U.S. Capitol. Holt was stunned to see four large glass jars, each with an alien creature preserved within. Also, there was what was apparently a flying saucer in the room not far from the beings. Compare this account with Philip Corso & Dead Alien Bodies

A Public Panic:

Lucile and her two sisters were all made aware of this unbelievable claim. They were instructed to wait long until after Hull and Holt were dead to release the information to anyone. The sisters feel that the alien bodies and saucer are still being kept somewhere in a secret, secured government location. They were told that Hull kept the knowledge to himself to stop a public panic, which would certainly have ensued after the information became common knowledge.

Served Under Franklin D. Roosevelt :

At the alleged time of the event, the United States had not yet entered into the golden age of the saucers, and the story, if released when it happened, would seem even more bizarre than ever. Hull, being a well-known statesman would have no reason to hoax such an event. Hull was a U.S. Senator from 1931-1937, and became Secretary of State under President Franklin D. Roosevelt in March 1933.

Daughters Heard Story of Creatures:

Hull and Reverend Hull were both from Picket County, and more than just cousins, they were close friends. Holt, a Doctor in Theology, ministered at the Shenandoah Christian Church in Greenwich, Ohio. He was an author and community spokesman. He and his wife Vina May Clark had three daughters. There is no information as to how much Holt's wife had, if any, of the event.

Aliens Described as Creatures:

Lucille had been told the story by her father when she was but a teenager, and she did not pay a lot of attention to it at the time. Luckily, her older sister was told the same story, and the sisters all recall the story independently of the others. One thing that their father told them really stuck: the entities in the glass jars were described as "creatures, " which would seem to rule out any misidentification of a human being.

Unknown Vehicle Near Aliens:

The sisters also recalled that their father remembers the visit to the secret room as occurring in the very late 1930s, more than likely 1939. Although not specifically told that the unknown flying object was part of one display, he naturally assumed that the four creatures arrived in or crashed in the nearby machine. The machine was described as being in pieces, and of a silver-metallic color. It was like nothing he had ever seen before.

Sub-Basement of Capitol Building:

The reputation of a witness to an event is most important, and in this case, we have a well respected minister, who was a community leader, and bringing no notoriety to himself, would have absolutely no reason to perpetuate a lie. Since none of the immediate Hull family is involved in the account, the validity of the story rests on the Holt family, at least until new information is released.

Story Unconfirmed:

The Curator of the U.S. Capitol building denies any knowledge of this sub-basement location at this time. However, she does recall that during the time period of the alleged visit, there was a sub-basement divided into storage rooms. To delay the release of this account is further verified by the fact that after Hull retired from public service, he wrote his memoirs, yet no mention of this story is found. The Hull-Holt story, though enticing, will exist within the realm of folklore.

Changes at Capitol Building:

The Curator states that many changes have taken place at the Capitol building through the years, and it is very possible that top-secret items could have been kept below the building, with access only given to certain individuals.
