Anonymous Coward User ID: 706857 United States 08/09/2009 10:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | its a good question, and important too. i'm also feeling at a loss. everyone in my family has thrown in every chip they have to the obama administration and stick their fingers in their ears when i try to talk to them about it. a hopeless feeling isnt it? i'd also love to hear suggestions. |

Armed to the teeth. I'm outnumbered. Outgunned. But the alley is crooked, dark, and very narrow. They can't surround me. Sometimes you can beat the odds with a careful choice of where to fight. Beyond one's own mind there is no dazzling light to come shining in from outside to wake one up. If one recognizes one's own intrinsic State as pure from the beginning and only temporarily obscured by impurities, and if one maintains the presence of this recognition without becoming distracted, then all the impurities dissolve. This is the essence of the Path-namkhai norbu. Why is there a legend about the descent of Christ into hell? The Teacher addressed the lower strata of the astral world, saying: Why, by cherishing earthly thoughts, bind oneself eternally to Earth? And many revolted in spirit and rose higher. Thread: I shot video of the earth from my spacecraft, enjoy! |

When you go to the doctor your health is the lowest priority. The question all the doctors and nurses focus on is how many drugs and tests can we justify selling based on the patient's symptoms. So far it appears Obama's plan is to FEED THE GREED more money. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 366482 United States 08/09/2009 11:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What exactly is so wrong with the idea of a national healthcare scheme? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 745757Good point. As far as people who oppose Obama's plan, where were you before? What is your alternative? The current system is broken and the only alternative offered in the past 20 years was done by the Clintons. So the choice is between Obama who say his plan will cost $1 trillion over the next 10 years, or the private insurance industry who have promised, by their own logic, to raise premiums $133 trillion over the next 10 years. |

Tell them to do a search for the healthcare bill in the .pdf file format. Or give them links to folks who have read it and can quote the pages where the worst parts are. Listen to radio talk shows. Lots of info there. 950 AM is good. What we can know isn't all there is. Somebody is going to fill in the blanks in that bill and it will result in far more draconian measures than we could dream. JUST SAY NO. . |
Ossiel (OP) User ID: 646356 United States 08/10/2009 10:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tell 'em what's in it. The chronically ill will receive little or no treatment. The elderly will be visited by some bureaucrat advising them how they can die sooner...by the withholding of antibiotics, nutrition and hydration. (Not a fun way to go.) Anonymous User ID: 730506 United States 08/10/2009 10:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not about health care, it's all about CONTROL. Show them one of those lists of what this horrible thing will really allow for ---these lists are all over the internet. If the govt is really concerned about just providing health care, they could issue vouchers to the uninsured and let people buy their own insurance until a reasonable plan could be worked out. (And leave everybody else the hell alone!) It would be a lot cheaper than hiring 100,000 more govt employees to oversee this crooked mess. Then they could work on tort reform, drug overpricing, etc. to come up with a well thought out plan with transparent input from EVERYONE and create something better than European style socialized medicine and not as intrusive and controlling as that piece of crap they are pushing. |

The virtue of courage is a prerequisite for the practice of all other virtues, because otherwise one is virtuous only when virtue has no cost. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 746011Ok, let's assume, for the sake of argument, that you are denied a kidney transplant because of your age. Are you suggesting that such exclusions do not exist already in for-profit plans? Are you suggesting that you wouldn't be allowed a kidney transplant beyond the age of 60 EVEN IF YOU WERE ABLE TO PAY FOR IT YOURSELF, either personally or through supplementary insurance? Please respond intelligently, and with proof. "The proud man delights in the company of flatterers and parasites, but hates the company of the high-minded." -- Spinoza |
