No record that I know of says that, whether photographic or written by Rose Kennedy, who kept detailed files on all her kids.

One other daughter died in a plane crash with her husband or soon to be husband who was protestant...was it Kathleen or "Kick"?

Kathleen "Kick" Kennedy died in a plane crash, not long after she married a Protestant whom was killed in war. She had another Protestant boyfriend following her husband's death. Kathleen and her boyfriend were actually flying to meet with Joe Kennedy to discuss plans of their marriage when their small plane went down, killing them both. She was nicknamed Kick because her younger siblings had a hard time pronouncing Kathleen.

Even when lobotomy was an accepted medical treatment it was NEVER considered a treatment for mental retardation, only for mental illness, what we would now call bipolar or ADHD type symptoms.

Joe did not even tell Rose about the surgery until afterward, and even for a lobotomy, it was a disaster. Most people who had them were able to function afterward.

I think the amount of toleration women had for men back in the Kennedy's era is what drives so much passion for debate today. It is a bit unconceivable to believe it would be openly tolerated and somewhat expected today. Not that things still don't occur still, but it is definitely not as common. Future generations may be looking back at us, thinking some things were very abnormal.

Believe I read that Rosemary’s brothers and sisters weren’t allowed to visit Rosemary after the lobotomy. Not until much later as adults.

Just reading the wiki about her and all her "symptoms" seem more like she did not go along with whatever else went on in Kennedy family. If this is public knowledge the mind wonders what was really happening between them. Maybe mental programming failure is what caused her hysteria.
