That totally sucks OP. I'm really sorry. I send a quick prayer also that your wife will be okay. Hugs, |

They usually leave those devices in for at least a day, to access the info from many accounts, to create as many cards as possible. |
II-Neutron User ID: 698407 Canada 08/14/2009 10:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had my account hit with 2 $500.00 withdraws. They originated in Montreal Quebec, (I live in Vancouver B.C.)and many people got hit at once.. I got a call to go to my branch to get a new card and re sign the user agreement etc. This happened in April and they only have 28 days in the month, I was hit on the 23. I had a bunch of end of the month payments coming out, but I was a thousands bucks short and the insurance would not credit my account until after a business day period of time. So I get a new card and pull out my cheque book and write myself a $1000.00 cheque to top up my account. The teller tells me that since the cheque is written off of a finance company based in Quebec I will have a 10 hold on the cheque. I had perfect credit never bouced a cheque, and I have such a high ATM limit that they could have taken out more than a thousand a day when they hijacked the account. I tell the teller do you know how many cheques are going to bounce if I do not put the funds into the account? Nothing she can do she says because my account s now limited due to the theft! I said sounds like to me you all would love to see $200.00 in NSF and overdraft protection profits from this incident. What I did was take back my cheque walk over the ATM (right in front of them) deposit the $1000.00 which is credited to my account and is available immediately, and I just scowled at them. I complained and made sure that the Quality Assurance manager heard about it. The cop my wife spoke with said that her account would be credited within 8 to 10 days. She lost just under 2,200, but luckily she has some savings she can transfer to a new account. She's just not well enough or mobile to go to a bank yet. She just had both hips replaced, so she's very limited as to how far she can move and for how long. |

Good to hear, I hope she recovers swiftly. There is just no reason why the bank cannot credit your account with the lost funds, interest free and with out service charge. As soon as it is ruled out you did not clean yourself out and the insurance kicks in they could do the decent thing and float you your own funds. Yep she got hit. She has a bunch of dinero, but we used a small account to do this. Now she thinks I am a moran! LOL. Hell I have done this for ten years with not one bad hit. But I have killer virus and trojan software. These dickwads need water boarded in my humble opinion. Fishing and skiing keeps me a little sane. |
