To alter and make impure the evasion of truth or importance of an issue with the intention to deceptively raise trivial distinctions and objections.

Not everything in this world is serious... some of it is a joke.

Re: Want to start meditating....
There are a million different ways to meditate, chances are you already do a few. Think to an activity where you feel centered, or "at home". Riding a bike, hiking in the woods, sitting by a lake, etc.. whatever it is where you find yourself, there you are. :)
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.

Forget about the bullshit your hear and read.

The 'tested' effective meditation for a beginner is

1. Sit facing north. or lie down but yr head should be in northern direction.

2. Take deep breaths. Slowly. As slow as you can. Assume that a ball of light is infront of you. and the light is flowing in as you breath. imagine this light is depositing in your heart and illuminating it.

do it for 4-5 times.

3. Now relax. Check all your limbs. shed every tension in the limbs. relax. relax. & relax.

4. Now visualise that a ball of light is infront of you. Color is not important. white, yellow, fire whatever.

5. Visualise that the light is flowing in to your right side, through you foot/toes. As it is coming up, its spreading warmth and light. Slow. Should be done very slowly. Bring it up to heart. Leave it there. Observe how the light moves or sits. What is the intensity of it. are colorful rays are emitting from it?

6. Move it to the center of your head. Repeat the same as you've done before.

7. Move it along the left side of the body and slowly let it go through your left foot or left toes and is flowing back into the ball. Let the ball go as you finish the 'cycle'

This is 1 cycle. be slow as the days gone by. extend the time of this cycle. ppl start from 1 minute and extend it to an hour or so.

You will start to see the changes within you. Keep doing it no matter what. Don't stop. You may experience some nightmares or jerks in the body or heat etc. Some ppl see beautiful places, travel in astral form. but these are the resistance of the "inner self". Most of these are nothing but illusions. This illusion can be beautiful as well as horrific. This depends upon the condition of your inner self.

Don't fight but don't quit either. recognise it. Accept it. respect it. Don't fell into illusion. Don't get excited. Don't start telling others what you've seen or what you've experienced.

Keep it within you or you'll loose it.
keeping it in, will become your strength later.

best Wishes

Re: Want to start meditating....
Hey op,

If your looking for an ASCENION meditation, dont miss:

www.floweroflife.org

www.merkaba.org

and do a keyword search for 18 breath merkaba meditation.

The first two links will direct you to teachers you can take workshops from, if you don't want to get that involved, there are directions for a basic meditation online(18 breath merkaba meditation). There is a warning that goes with it though, it is very powerful. Be sure to get in touch with your higherself and see if it's ok to start.

Best wishes,
D

Re: Want to start meditating....
There are many schools of meditation. Western discription of the two main schools of Buhddist meditation refer to meditation on the absence of anything and meditation on the entirety of everything. I like Dogzchen meditation which is refered to as tibetian dream yoga and shares a common thread with transendental meditation in that the simplest is to internally chant the short a sound ahhhh. Mankind enlightenment love - uses a meditation to the 7th chakra to bring in universal energy which is used to treat a massive variety of ailments. Yoga is a combination mind body meditation. It all depends on what your looking to get out of your meditation.
