To be fair, the NHS is pretty damn good.
EVERYONE, regardless of class, income, etc gets treated, whether you have a job or not.
You don't always get treated perfectly, but you get treated with basic competence...and it is free.
The USA has been the laughing-stock of the civilised world for its poor quality and overpriced healthcare for decades, can't say I am entirely au fait with the controversy of obama's proposed changes - but a change is surely due for you unfortunate citizens
Come on now, be reasonable and honest. Your NHS isn't free. Brits pay for it through your taxes.
Working class Americans can't continue shouldering the burden of providing everything to the non-working class/poor and the rest of our country.... and the world, too.
Quoting: XLR8True, it's payed for through a taxation system BUT only by those who are working. And EVERYONE gets access to it, working or not. Might seem unfair, but if you're lying in a road after being hit my a truck, the least of your concerns should be 'can I afford to get treatment?'. The problem in the USA is that it only works for those who can afford it. 40% of your entire population can't afford healthcare.
