You missed the really really really big ones back in 2002-2004, but they may be back as we near the next solar max in 2012,

if things start heating up again like the last time we will alert you,


you can tell when a huge one is earthbound, when you see a solar explosion that causes a halo/explosion around the entire sun, that means a huge one has just occured and is heading our way.
