NASA says the pitch of their Shuttle flight mission(s) are 78 degrees, you can see The Shuttle keep that trajectory through-out the launch up until separation with the external tank.

If the final pitch is horizontal then The Shuttle would be following the curvature of The Earth like commercial airplanes do and that won't get them into Space because you gotta fly up and vertically away from the surface of The Earth to accomplish this, although at an angular trajectory as NASA obviously does.

The Shuttle maintains the 78 degree pitch after the 180 degree roll up until 7:50 where she rolls another 180 degrees and is now seen sitting placidly upon The Tank, and at the 8:28 marker once the roll has been completed you will see The Shuttle rising above the roundness of The Earth seen at the wing tail of The Shuttle.

The heads-up roll isn't the same as "going vertical" - you swapped claims midstream. You also don't get to orbit by shooting straight up. See the links I previously provided, they'll give the exact pitch for the shuttle at all timepoints.

It thrusts vertically away for separation, but that's after main engine cutoff.

Yes, pay attention to that video. At the four-minute mark, the edge of the Earth comes into view. At the five-minute mark, the edge of the Earth is almost at the center of the rear-facing camera, which would be impossible if the shuttle were flying mostly upwards.

In addition, listen to the altitude and downrange calls from Mission Control in Houston:

3:13 - altitude 10 miles, downrange 10 miles
4:27 - altitude 37 miles, downrange 51 miles
5:30 - altitude 56 miles, downrange 120 miles
7:50 - altitude 57 miles, downrange 350 miles
9:24 - altitude 65 miles, downrange 613 miles

So how does the shuttle, traveling at a 78-degree angle at thousands of miles per hour, only gain nine miles in altitude in the almost four minutes between 5:30 and 9:24?



Sure it can rise in altitude. It'll rise in altitude so long as the direction of the velocity relative to the ground is anything greater than zero degrees, i.e., it's aimed away from the ground to any extent at all.

OP might be on to something. ;) In the first video of the "backflip" the female commentator clearly says the shuttle is crossing 220 feet above the coast of Brazil. Huh! NASA! Such a bunch of liars!

And now The Shuttle is traveling at 17,000 MPH in a vertical position, I wonder how high she keeps going with all this momentum built up?

Just because something it pointed in a vertical position (and I don't think the shuttle is positioned vertically, in any case) doesn't mean that's the direction it's traveling.

Not an entirely fair comparison: the final clip has the shuttle against the blackness of space, while the first three clips have a cloudy Earth in the background, making the thruster firings a lot harder to see.

And at the 8:28 marker once the roll has been completed you will still see The Shuttle rising above the roundness of The Earth seen at the wing tail of The Shuttle and at the 10:44 marker The Shuttle separates with the external tank and thereupon goes completely VERTICAL.

The thruster firing in that video would have occurred right when the nose of the orbiter was backed by a exceptionally white and fluffy cloud, so it's a rather poor example.

Yes, it's over the pretty blue ocean at 0:50, but it's not firing thrusters at that point.

And I'm still waiting for your explanation of how the shuttle gets 65 miles high and 613 miles downrange while traveling at a 78-degree angle. Cat got your tongue on that one?

The Shuttle's nose begins to lift only after 11 seconds into the clip, that's a lot of time going at 17,000 MPH orbit, those thrusters would have clearly been seen.

Orbit is FAKE, The Shuttle is built to glide on The Flat Atmosphere.
