They HAVE the votes to do so, both in the House AND in the Senate.

The Dems WANTED to bail Wall Street and do NOT want to pass Health care- get it????!!!????

8 ways reform provides security and stability to those with or without coverage
Ends Discrimination for Pre-Existing Conditions: Insurance companies will be prohibited from refusing you coverage because of your medical history.
Ends Exorbitant Out-of-Pocket Expenses, Deductibles or Co-Pays: Insurance companies will have to abide by yearly ca
Ends Cost-Sharing for Preventive Care: Insurance companies must fully cover, without charge, regular checkups and tests that help you prevent illness, such as mammograms or eye and foot exams for diabetics.
Ends Dropping of Coverage for Seriously Ill: Insurance companies will be prohibited from dropping or watering down insurance coverage for those who become seriously ill.
Ends Gender Discrimination: Insurance companies will be prohibited from charging you more because of your gender.
Ends Annual or Lifetime Caps on Coverage: Insurance companies will be prevented from placing annual or lifetime caps on the coverage you receive.
Extends Coverage for Young Adults: Children would continue to be eligible for family coverage through the age of 26.
Guarantees Insurance Renewal: Insurance companies will be required to renew any policy as long as the policyholder pays their premium in full. Insurance companies won't be allowed to refuse renewal because someone became sick.

8 common myths about health insurance reform
Reform will stop "rationing" - not increase it: It’s a myth that reform will mean a "government takeover" of health care or lead to "rationing." To the contrary, reform will forbid many forms of rationing that are currently being used by insurance companies.
We can’t afford reform: It's the status quo we can't afford. It’s a myth that reform will bust the budget. To the contrary, the President has identified ways to pay for the vast majority of the up-front costs by cutting waste, fraud, and abuse within existing government health programs; ending big subsidies to insurance companies; and increasing efficiency with such steps as coordinating care and streamlining paperwork. In the long term, reform can help bring down costs that will otherwise lead to a fiscal crisis.
Reform would encourage "euthanasia": It does not. It’s a malicious myth that reform would encourage or even require euthanasia for seniors. For seniors who want to consult with their family and physicians about end-of life decisions, reform will help to cover these voluntary, private consultations for those who want help with these personal and difficult family decisions.
Vets' health care is safe and sound: It’s a myth that health insurance reform will affect veterans' access to the care they get now. To the contrary, the President's budget significantly expands coverage under the VA, extending care to 500,000 more veterans who were previously excluded. The VA Healthcare system will continue to be available for all eligible veterans.
Reform will benefit small business - not burden it: It’s a myth that health insurance reform will hurt small businesses. To the contrary, reform will ease the burdens on small businesses, provide tax credits to help them pay for employee coverage and help level the playing field with big firms who pay much less to cover their employees on average.
Your Medicare is safe, and stronger with reform: It’s myth that Health Insurance Reform would be financed by cutting Medicare benefits. To the contrary, reform will improve the long-term financial health of Medicare, ensure better coordination, eliminate waste and unnecessary subsidies to insurance companies, and help to close the Medicare "doughnut" hole to make prescription drugs more affordable for seniors.
You can keep your own insurance: It’s myth that reform will force you out of your current insurance plan or force you to change doctors. To the contrary, reform will expand your choices, not eliminate them.
No, government will not do anything with your bank account: It is an absurd myth that government will be in charge of your bank accounts. Health insurance reform will simplify administration, making it easier and more convenient for you to pay bills in a method that you choose. Just like paying a phone bill or a utility bill, you can pay by traditional check, or by a direct electronic payment. And forms will be standardized so they will be easier to understand. The choice is up to you – and the same rules of privacy will apply as they do for all other electronic payments that people make.
Coverage Denied to Millions: A recent national survey estimated that 12.6 million non-elderly adults – 36 percent of those who tried to purchase health insurance directly from an insurance company in the individual insurance market – were in fact discriminated against because of a pre-existing condition in the previous three years or dropped from coverage when they became seriously ill. Learn more: [link to www.healthreform.gov]
Less Care for More Costs: With each passing year, Americans are paying more for health care coverage. Employer-sponsored health insurance premiums have nearly doubled since 2000, a rate three times faster than wages. In 2008, the average premium for a family plan purchased through an employer was $12,680, nearly the annual earnings of a full-time minimum wage job. Americans pay more than ever for health insurance, but get less coverage. Learn more: [link to www.healthreform.gov]
Roadblocks to Care for Women: Women’s reproductive health requires more regular contact with health care providers, including yearly pap smears, mammograms, and obstetric care. Women are also more likely to report fair or poor health than men (9.5% versus 9.0%). While rates of chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure are similar to men, women are twice as likely to suffer from headaches and are more likely to experience joint, back or neck pain. These chronic conditions often require regular and frequent treatment and follow-up care. Learn more: [link to www.healthreform.gov]
Hard Times in the Heartland: Throughout rural America, there are nearly 50 million people who face challenges in accessing health care. The past several decades have consistently shown higher rates of poverty, mortality, uninsurance, and limited access to a primary health care provider in rural areas. With the recent economic downturn, there is potential for an increase in many of the health disparities and access concerns that are already elevated in rural communities. Learn more: [link to www.healthreform.gov]
Small Businesses Struggle to Provide Health Coverage: Nearly one-third of the uninsured – 13 million people – are employees of firms with less than 100 workers. From 2000 to 2007, the proportion of non-elderly Americans covered by employer-based health insurance fell from 66% to 61%. Much of this decline stems from small business. The percentage of small businesses offering coverage dropped from 68% to 59%, while large firms held stable at 99%. About a third of such workers in firms with fewer than 50 employees obtain insurance through a spouse. Learn more: [link to www.healthreform.gov]
The Tragedies are Personal: Half of all personal bankruptcies are at least partly the result of medical expenses. The typical elderly couple may have to save nearly $300,000 to pay for health costs not covered by Medicare alone. Learn more: [link to www.healthreform.gov]
Diminishing Access to Care: From 2000 to 2007, the proportion of non-elderly Americans covered by employer-based health insurance fell from 66% to 61%. An estimated 87 million people - one in every three Americans under the age of 65 - were uninsured at some point in 2007 and 2008. More than 80% of the uninsured are in working families. Learn more: [link to www.healthreform.gov]
The Trends are Troubling: Without reform, health care costs will continue to skyrocket unabated, putting unbearable strain on families, businesses, and state and federal government budgets. Perhaps the most visible sign of the need for health care reform is the 46 million Americans currently without health insurance - projections suggest that this number will rise to about 72 million in 2040 in the absence of reform. Few will admit it, but we are not free in any real sense of the word. Everything that is happening in this world today, especially in America, proves that this is so. Those in positions of power have created the technological means to manipulate and control humanity in a 'broad spectrum' of ways. They further wish to enslave humanity by making humans an integrated part of the World Wide Web by marking them with a microwave readable dielectric barcode, which is a major part of the 'healthcare' system, as well as the future economic system, they envision. You are absolutely correct; I've noticed similar circumstances with local POTUS visits [3 total: 2 GWB and 1 Clinton]; airport hangers ARE a favorite staging area and tickets ARE required and DO come from party affiliates ONLY [BTW: if you expected to break bread with GWB it'd cost you $200 as a tax-deductible "donation"]. Protesters -especially with GWB- WERE kept behind barricades [in one case, 4' tall chainlink fence sections] and far enough away so even a bullhorn wouldn't be heard by the media [who were herded AWAY from the protesters]; but, that didn't matter, because there were obviously favorites among the media also and only a special few got the 'choice' locations and best camera angles.
Further: in addition to the three local POTUS visits I mentioned above... in major cities, I've also seen/attended 8 other high-profile visits/motorcades, including LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, Queen Elizabeth II, Pope Paul II, Cory Aquino and the King Of Tonga[!] - and, I KID YOU NOT: what was described by the OP in his slanted presentation sounds very much like BUSINESS AS USUAL. I will say this, however: when GWB blew into town the 2nd time around, he ate local Kansas beef... in an airplane hanger redraped to resemble a reception area. But, a hanger it WAS!
It's also very common for small towns to try to "show off" when the big boys breeze in and it usually looks like something out of Mayberry. I wouldn't be surprised if that Lobster was ordered by the Bozeman townfathers as an excuse to splurge; Obama's people know better and realise the fallout such an expenditure would have in local press.
The e-mailed source sounds like a big Doofus whose biggest outing to that point was a State Fair. There really IS life beyond the local A & W!!!
BTW: the 'tons' of cargo was likely shipped-in because Bozeman didn't have it at the local F.& W. Woolworth's store.

I dont see any problem with a public option. I think the people with superb healthcare dont want to wait inline behind poor people who get it for free. In the end this is what its really about. Most well off people not giving a dam about the poor.
I see it for what it is. Astroturf and people who dont want to wait behind others. I however dont see a need for a 1000+ page bill for a public option. The public option should only give you basic healthcare, like visiting the Dr and paying for generic prescriptions.
I dont think a lot of things should be covered in the public option. I would like to see basic dental work thrown in like fillings and pulling teeth. And a set of dentures. My dad worked all his life, he was disabled due to heart problems and they pulled all his teeth 'government covered it'.
But they wont pay 300 bucks for a set of dentures so he can chew food. Hes paid far more into taxes and his company insurance covered everything right up until he was disabled. The government is shirking its duties.
I also do not want to pay for the 10 children you crapped out because youre catholic and dont believe in birth control. I dontlike the idea of covering families. There should be a seperate insurace for them, yes Im mean I think it should cost a lot more.
I didnt ask you to have 10 kids and I dam sure shouldnt have to pay for your children. I think people putting out that many children are freaking selfish and need the burden to be on them not the public.
So in the end I want a public option for single people with zero kids.

The real shit went down in the Primary election, that is truly where we lost. By November, the two men were BOTH heading down the same path no matter who won. The path of big government expansions and spending, wars, and banksters.
Ron Paul should have been the Republican nominee in a world where the media didn't control how people think.
All the things Ron Paul said he would do would rectify a lot of the problems we see today. Ending wars could provide money for a non-invasive form of government health care credits

Non SEIU/Acorn people need to be very careful about how we proceed. We have just as much right to be heard as they do and we can push to make that happen, but we should not push to physical confrontation and if possible, we should dig deep to resist the urge to return a push, shove, or even a punch. These scum are begging for a fight hoping that those opposed will let tempers get the better of them. Cops are going to arrest anyone involved in that situation and sort it out downtown. No matter what the truth is, the union/ACORN thugs will be given preferential treatment by the media and those that were incited or even attacked will be painted as dangerous violent extremists. DHS will trot out another advisory and protests will become all the reason they need to lock people up.
There couldn't be a better example than some SEIU/ACORN thug picking a fight with someone who has a concealed gun. Even if the lawful gun owner never goes for his gun, if it were to be discovered, the media would paint the gun owner as the problem instead of the one who started the fight. I am a carry permit holder and yes, I carry everywhere it is legal to do so. I even carried to all 4 protest rallies I’ve been to this year and will continue to do so, but we gun owners need to show the extra measure of caution. We have a HUGE target on us right now and it isn’t going away until the gun grabbing Socialists like Obama, Pelosi, Reed, and others are voted out of office.
Keep carrying, but be very very careful out there.
