It's only a matter of time before what's happening in Canada happens in the USA even with the current system. The problem is that in our existing privatized system, insurance companies limit how much they are willing to pay for treatment, doctor visits, drugs, etc. and what they are willing to cover. This alone has caused many people not to go into healthcare and not to become doctors. There are now a lot more women entering the medical field than men because there just isn't the money (profit) in it that there used to be (Women are generally going into for a different reason). And doctors also feel that their hands are too tied by the insurance companies already.
