happy gilmore was great.

He was barely ever funny. I liked a couple of his early movies though.

does this surprise you? "guy" movies with twats like Sandler are just like "chick flicks" with vacant spaces like Jennifer Aniston... just silly films designed to make you see life through a narrow little filter.. they were never funny...

Kinda like Will Farrell. He was almost funny in Talledega Nights.

It seems like he's lost the passion for it. I noticed. Maybe he's just bored with it all.

I give a fuck, comedy is my favorite movie genre and there are more horror, action, drama, romance, etc movies released than comedy, so when a good director like judd apatow(40 yr old virgin, knocked up, etc) puts someone who doesnt know how to be funny anymore into a leading role of his new movie, i feel like i got screwed.

He plays the jew card far too much.

He should rein it in.

Thats exactly right, hes sluggish on films the last 5 years, with hardly any emotion at all. if hes bored with it, why not just direct or write? stop keeping other young comedians from getting their foot in the door. step aside

To say he isn't funny any more means he was actually funny at some point.

i loved "Punch-drunk Love"
I thought he was hilarious in that... maybe because it wasnt a stupid ass shock comedy.

The same thing seemed to happen to Steve Martin and Robin Williams and other comedians too - hollywood seems to kill real art and humor.
