America has the best autos on the planet always has, for the money bar none. Could they improve? They could run on water and for free.

There's a GM coming out next year that runs on electric.

Yea, ive always been a ford person myself in my 45 years here on earth, i still am, but i do own a jeep commander that i bought in january and love it to but i honestly like any ford, chevy, dodge, jeep vehicle anyway and refuse to support another foreign country by driving their toyota, nissan, lexus etc even though the majority of them are assembled here in the usa,,its a overlooked trick done by them,,,remember,, the usa will fold in on itself from w/in.

So my Ford/ Linclon saved my life yesterday on I 95. Got rear ended at about 40 to 50mph by a Nissan Altima. We were stuck in the merge lane of 295 and 95 outside of Richmond. She wasn't paying attention and rammed us. The frame of our Linclon remained in tact. We had our seat belts on, so my chest area is quite bruised. The Nissan was demolished up to the fire wall. Luckily the driver is ok. Also had her belt on. If we had been in a small car too I'm sure we would have been crushed. My kids now want my to by an H2.

pretty convincing...without being there I would argue that Ford did well...you can however always influence testing inputs if you wanted to to acheive the desired result

My 19-year-old son (with two passengers) was t-boned while driving his F150 a couple of weeks back. A 14-year-old decided to take her mom's Escalade out for a joy ride and ran a red light at about 45 mph (approximately the same speed he was driving also). It messed up the front of the Escalade (lights, dropped the bumper on the road, etc.) and they chugged off into the night. My son's pickup spun around one and one-half complete revolutions. The Escalade hit right behind the cab, and one back wheel and the bed were messed up, but the kids weren't hurt. He didn't like the thought of driving a truck, but now is a believer and swears that if he had been driving a small car, they would be dead.

You can't dog Chevy out just yet.
I bought my Silverado 1500 with 13,000 miles on it.
It's got 133,000 on it now. I have not had one problem with it yet.But I do keep up with the mantenace, change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles, had it tuned up at 100,000 miles and rotate the tires about every ten thousand or when I get the chance. I'm only on my second set of tires.

NO NO im not at all, as i stated im a ford person but actually drive a jeep commander i bought in jan this year, its actually my 2nd jeep, my other was a 96 jeep cherokee 4x4 that i put 550,000 miles on it before i finally sold it.
It had the 4.litre hi output straight 6 engine in it and i never ever did anything to it till around 450,000 the alternater finally went out, then a couple thousand miles later the water pump went out and i did the repairs myself in under an hour each time.

Everything on that jeep worked as well when i sold it as the day i bought it all the way down to the power mirrors, the a/c blew just as cold also and i never added freon.

The guy i sold it to is still driving it w/np at all.

I just dont like foreign owned vehicles period

You can do that w/just about any vehicle, especially putting then under water, as long as you dryem out and drain and redo the oils/fuel they will all start right back up.

Hell when i was younger down in south florida we would have old junk cars/buggies we would play with out in the swamps and sometimes would submerge them 7-8 feet under water by accident and pull em out later that day or the next w/a friends 4x4 and as noted drain the oils and fuel and startem right up and go again

I certainly hope they improved the crash worthiness, because F150's from just a few short years ago would collapse like a tin can when involved in a low speed wreck.

I'll agree with you on that one. My husband gave his 3 year old F150 to the son (the truck I mentioned earlier as being in an accident). He bought a full-sized Chevy with larger motor, and the Chevy gets better gas mileage.

Re: THE VIDEO PROOF ABOUT THE BUILD/DURABILITY OF FORD TRUCKS VS TOYOTA VS CHEVY ETC-A 10 MIN VIDEO-Quote

I bought a brand new 1978 Chevy Luv for my first "nice" work truck. After two years use in light residential remodeling the thing was falling apart piece by piece. I traded it in on a brand new 1980 Scotsdale 1/2 ton with a 305V8 coupled with a newly engineered automatic transmission that featured a clutch-torque converter. The thing never shifted correctly and was replaced twice during the life of the vehicle. By the time I quit driving it in around 1990 it was on it's third engine. I admit that I am tough on equipment, but it soured me on GM.

Next foray into new vehicle was a brand new, factory-ordered E250. I noticed something wrong with the front end on the way home from the dealership. They claimed that that was how the big vans rolled. I sold the van less than two years later. The guy who bought it had the front end completely rebuilt, at his own expense. End of Ford for me.

The best new car I ever owned was a brand new 2002 Volkswagon Golf 4-door diesel, with a manual transmission. 47 mpg. city and as high as 58 open road. Car was solid, fun to drive, and the dealership fixed anything I crabbed about(very little) without hesitation. Unfortunately, I totaled it in Florida, three years after I bought it. It had 39k miles on it. I hit a barricade head on at about 45mph, which threw the car out into oncoming 50 mph traffic to be head-onned by a Ford Explorer. Both air bags deployed. After the accident, and before all the coolant leaked out, I started the car and drove it off the road. I lost the finger-nail on my left middle finger because the air-bag threw my hand against the windshield. Passenger was unscathed. I got 14k for it from my insurance, three years after paying 17k for the vehicle.

Since then I beat the crap out of a 1996 Volvo 850 wagon, and am now working on wiping out a 1992 Toyota 4-runner. I have been the final owner of nearly every car I ever bought. I just grind em' down.

Got my license in 71. Keep on truckin'.

Recent America's cars are crap. I recently bought a 1992 honda accord and it's the most reliable vehicle i have ever owned. I will buy another. I also bought a (1990)nissan d21 mini pickup truck and it runs great! GM, Chrysler and ford built there vehicles to last only a small period of time so you could go out and buy another. My buddy came over the other day and his america car died in my driveway. after closer examination the plastic pulley wore off and fell off the power stearing unit. f@ckin plastic. come on, what the hell. We really dropped the ball in the last 20 years.

The japs cars had to raise the bar to get in the u.s. car market now the u.s. models will have to do the same to compete with the foreign cars. what goes around comes around.

side note. i did have a ford f150 truck (1992) straight six and i was very happy with it till it died recently. blown head.

come on U.S. raise the bar again and i will come back!!!!!
