This process of photo RESTORATION is not about generalizing.
It's a specific set of steps to restore ANY INDIVIDUAL PHOTO to its original CONTENT-visibility,.
If there is a SPECIFIC PHOTO that you object to the way it has been handled, say so.

It is NOT 2000 miles in diameter!

One of the things that happens to my images is that they experience deterioration and changes when put up on a server.
For instance--
The whole series of images at Google--

are now set on fire. They all have to be brought down and be redone.
Unfortunately, my computer is surveilled (intruded upon while I'm working and an extra power source invokes the root 18 kacpid routine, which is a cpu crash) and it's crashing so often right now I can't redo all the photos.
So, I guess I'll just take it all down and redo when that is practicable.

Not only that, the original source is not in color (not as you think it is). HICO takes very narrow spectral slices extending into the infrared to plot coastal geophysical features. That is a false-color scientific image designed entirely to bring out underwater geologic structures; not to look like a pretty blue ocean.
You haven't a clue what astronomy is, do you? |

Let's for a second assume you are right. Let's assume the Moon is much smaller and closer.
Please explain then how two people, physically separated a known distance on the Earth, can measure the angle of the Moon in the sky, apply basic geometric principles, and come up with a distance of about 250,000 miles EVERY TIME for OVER A THOUSAND YEARS with their work checked by MILLIONS of people. Please explain how that distance is back up EVERY TIME the distance is ranged with lasers or radar. Please explain how MILLIONS of people can be wrong and only you are right because you are seeing the equivalent of bunnies in clouds and NOBODY else does.

Then why can't you restore the image of the Moon I merely boosted the contrast on? That should be childsplay for an experienced restorer like you. Why are you running away from that challenge? |
