IF NASA wanted us to see and know what is on other planets:
1. They would use 300 dpi resolution, not 72 dip resolution.
2. They would make certain that Contrast Settings are appropriate, not give us photo after photo, all black with glaring white and no details.
3. They would use color film and not color things in later: blue dirt and sand, orange sky, purple tire tracks.
4. The lens on the camera would be set so that FOREGROUND IMAGES can be seen as well as images at infinite distance. The always and only practice of setting the lens to focus ON INFINITE DISTANCE makes all foreground movement or subjects DISAPPEAR.
5. And disappear is what NASA appears to want Life to do: Just get out of the way so NASA can bomb here and bomb there!
6. I wonder how many people were casualties of the LCROSS impact "study" so they can measure the amount mist that shows up on a photo, later.
7. It's uncivil and barbaric, the insistence that OUR PHYSICAL INTRUSIONS to find out what we already know, are somehow legally and morally justifiable. My source says there were a dozen human beings killed by the LCROSS impact. So much for civil Law on THIS planet, that lets corporations do such things.
I'm not the one who is insane around here.
That's for sure.

Today I pointed out to NASA that their lens setting is deliberately overlooking people in the immediate foreground of the Rover.

Foreground figures only show up as faint shadows overlaying the landscape background.
That's not sportsmanlike, to hide the people from view. You can see all the tiny people in the distance, but not the ones right up front.
