NASA does not bother to do that with their space photos.
None of them are corrected for smears, skews or color aberrations. so, I show them how to fix them.
People who take photos generally want to SEE the DETAILS that they paid to photograph.
But not NASA.

I'm sorry, but correcting skew requires an internal reference in the photograph. You can correct the various distortions present in a picture of, say, a building face. You have no basis for similar corrections on a mountain face; there is no reference grid in the subject.
In a similar manner, color correction as performed by amateurs, by photo developers, and so forth is a form of assuming what the subject is supposed to look like and altering the color balance (a destructive process, note!) in order to make it "look right."
An instructive and amusing case was during filming of the first Star Trek Episode, "Menagerie"; they kept making up the Orion Slave Girl in the most saturated green make up they could come up with, and each time the film would come back with the actress looking a (relatively) normal pink. It turned out the lab technician wasn't expecting a science fiction show, and had been correcting the film in processing!
The point being, unless you really know the color response of the film, the filters used, and what was done as part of preparation for the public-release version, you have no basis for color correction; all you have is your own guesses about what color something "should" be.
Smearing is a specific case. Like fogging and blurring, it is a lessening of the information in the picture. Anything you put in to repair it is, by definition, created information; information that was not originally in the picture.
In short, ALL of your methods are only useful for imposing your own preconceptions on the material. They do not in any way reveal what is "actually" there; if anything, they disguise and distort that reality. |

Slander refers to VERBAL communications, Emily. So unless someone HEARS me say something you do not like and which meets the tests for slanderous communications, no slander has taken place by definition.

Be that what it may, the best series I have completed so far is clarifying and pointing out the summer 2007 Rover rockslide that killed a score of residents in the Cape Verde area of the Victoria Crater on Mars.
It was a disaster never reported to us.
This series shows the human cost when the Rover got too close to the edge of the cliff, and it caused the face to collapse.
